Another excellent m/m romance novel from Amy Lane. Ward-to-lover story with a heart of gold. Joe rescues strays and tries to show them that there are people willing to help just because, people who don't expect anything in return. Casey is one of his strays, and Casey sticks. Casey loves Joe but ...

4,5 stars. A wonderful love story spanning over 25 years. Both main characters are very lovable in their own way: Casey the vulnerable but tough kid, that got thrown out for being gay as a teenager, and Joe, the giant with the great heart. It was very much on the romantic side and very well written.

This was really sweet, but for Lane it didn't really get maudlin. I enjoyed the two MC's and their slow build to the relationship. Joe was very funny. I also enjoyed that it spanned so many years into the relationship.

2.5 starsSo close. So close to maybe kinda liking this book. It had tons of potential. I liked the writing early on, it was pretty and simple. And the characters were charming. The evolution of Joe & Casey’s relationship was sweet and I enjoyed being a part of it through the years. I can see how...

Lovely story - it was wonderful to see the relationship evolution over the extended time frame. Josiah was a very special and caring man.

Warning, when reading this story make sure you have some tissues handy.I really enjoyed that it does not follow the normal romance routine of meet, fuck, fight, then fall in love. No, this love found after real life issues, and mistakes.A very sweet story.

I really really loved this book. A beautiful love story that lasts 25 years, an amazing accomplishment in books. Joe and Casey were really a beautiful couple, I was not sure how to feel when I finished. The book really did show a mature relationship, how to survive and how to love. The age differenc...

So, after shoving this book back several times, I used my September challenge to finally read it. I just finished and I'm still under the impression of the book. First, the cover is just too cute. Then, 1987 is the year my first son was born, so it's not just a number for me:) and while reading, I r...
