original source is my blogLet me start out by saying that I am now 100%, fully into this series. That's not something that comes easily to me. I tend to steer clear of multiple-work series because a) I probably won't keep up with them as they come out because I just don't have the time or energy to ...

I really like this series, even though the heroine (Alina) is the "she doesn't know she's beautiful" girl. Can we just retire this trope already? Please? Along with the "idiotic misunderstanding that creates a huge rift in romantic relationships" trope?

Siege and Storm was kind of slow for me during the first half of the book but the second half was AMAZING. I had to push myself to read the earlier chapters but eventually I couldn't put the book down. Alina's character went through a lot of changes. If you found her weak or whiny in book 1 then y...

I was really happy with this. The second book in a trilogy typically annoys me but this was well done. Most of the time there is so much character building that the plot doesn't move forward at all and the pacing gets slowed down too much. But here the pacing was still quick and the characters we...

Siege and Storm simply didn't live up to my expectations. The storyline's progress was fine at first and then it became slower than death. To my personal opinion, this book was worth reading just for the last 25% of it. I was reading a few pages per day, trying to finish it. The only reason for me n...

Book Review Shadow and Bone Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee. This first book defian...

I regret not buying Ruin & Rising immediately as well, because now I finished S&S I just HAVE to get the last book. I...

Siege and Storm certainly didn't wait around to get to the action. There's a bit of a time lapse from the end of the first book to the start of the second, but not too much time has passed. And within the first chapter, the story's already shooting forward, running at breakneck speed. It was yet anot...

I finally got a chance to read this book and WOW. I’m blown away and just don’t even know how to start this review. Plot: This story takes place right after the last book so I strongly recommend you pick up the first book. If you have read the first book be prepared to be blown away. There is so m...

More of a random ramble than a review: I enjoyed this book even more so than Shadow and Bone. My only major problem with the book was Mal. I don't remember liking him in the first book, and I really felt he kept pulling the pacing and holding the plot back whenever he showed up. He became more and m...
