Word count: about 68 000Rating: I’ll finish you like a cheesecake For me it’s 3,5 * - keep in mind that it’s a positive rating. I liked that book. I really did.EDIT.The grand haze had been lifted! I come to tell you of a good book (no, don't shut your doors in my face, not that book, come on!). If y...

While, I wish I discovered this series when I was a kid, it's still hugely funny and enjoyable for older readers. The humour is reminiscent of earlier Harry Potter books before they got darker (though it's possible that this series will progress in that fashion as it continues), and A Series of Unfo...

A cleverly written, Tim Burton-eque fast-paced magical mystery with witty dialogue, and a beautifully eye-catching cover.Mr. Skullduggery Pleasant is a vengeful detective, a living skeleton with a wicked way with sarcasm, introducing Stephanie (a.k.a. Valkyrie), an intelligent, resourceful, and inqu...

It was described to me the best as "Harry Dresden as a skeleton, for Teens". Very appropriate description. It's a really quick read, and the only thing that would have made this 5 stars was some more Skulduggery humor. Guy is entirely composed of funny bones I tell you.

Clever. Funny. Great characters. Okay plot. I love Skulduggery. I do. He's awesome. And Stephanie? I love her too. I wasn't sure what to expect from her at first, but she never disappointed. Honestly, all the main characters were pretty cool. I love Tanith!Bit sketchy on how Skulduggery came back. N...

I've read this book five times now since 2010, and I'm still standing by my originally given five stars. To me, this is the best children's action/adventure/fantasy (middle grade urban fantasy?) written and published in the last five years at the very least - well, since Harry Potter, anyway. Nothin...

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I'm serious. Hundreds of books on my shelves, and I usually avoid the children's genre nowadays because I figured I'd read all the ones that weren't cheesy, but...whoah. I am truly blown away. This book has everything: a smart, tough heroine, an amazing ...

This book is another free gem I got off the YA Sync Summer Audio Program. I really love this program because I end up listening to stuff that I otherwise wouldn’t have picked up on my own. The cover of the book looked hokey and the description didn’t do much for me, but I was pleasantly surprised wh...

This is so awesome I don't even know where to start. Must order the rest of Landy's catalog right now.I love that this is UF for a younger crowd. The dark woods and open meadows of standard fantasy fare were magic in a familiar setting to me as a child out in the country, but my niece is a city girl...
