Oh, man, I love this: a skater boy gets his girlfriend pregnant; complications ensue. Meanwhile, he keeps a running conversation going with his personal god, Tony Hawk. It's the pop culture milieu of Hornby at his best, and young protagonist, and then some magical realism as well. Brilliant.
This is a very touching story about a teenage father and the struggle to grow up and be a man. Not quite as good as some of Nick Hornby's adult books, but a definite good read.
