I enjoyed this book as a kid, but didn't enjoy it as much as an adult. There were just little things: everyone looks miserable in all the illustrations (camp life wasn't dour all the time), the translation of the kanji on the obelisk is incorrect, one character compares internment to Pearl Harbor. A educational picture book about the Japanese camps during WWII in the US. It has beautiful artwork, and would be a good way to teach children about a not so pleasant time in history.
