Well, nothing ever again approached the sporadically appealing random humor of the original and while I liked this one better than some of the other volumes, I could still certainly have lived without it. So, 2.
This was where the Hitchhiker's trilogy stopped being particularly funny. I just didn't laugh at the narrator's question, when discussing Arthur Dent's need for companionship: "Does he not, to put it in a nutshell, f**k?" Skip it, and skip Mostly Harmless.
