Loved Socks, but the Brickers were the worst cat parents ever. Hated them and their stupid baby. Loathsome book.
This was one of my favorite books as a child, and I'm delighted beyond words that I can still enjoy it re-reading it as an adult.Socks's cat personality is just so fantastically spot on. Everything from the tail curving into a question mark to the need to teach his humans lessons about allowing him...
Not the best Cleary book, and I found the story very offensive to the treatment of animals.
This book made me bawl my eyes out as a child. Loved it.
