Dollycas’s Thoughts Owen and Hercules are two of my favorite literary felines. This is an example of a great cozy mystery series that makes the 'cute' factor work for it, instead of against it. Owen and Hercules are definitely cats with magical gifts: there's no possibility of logical explanations when you have cats that can do what they can do. But the author never takes it...

After the last book I read, I needed a light and fluffy story to read, and this was just the ticket. Enjoyable story and a well paced plot with a few twists and turns. Kathleen once again finds herself at the center of a mystery when she finds the body of Margo, the curator brought in to stage a...

Slow. Very, very slow. Magical cats are cool enough, but feral cats who don't want to be touched by anyone but Kathleen - yet they LOVE hanging out with and interacting with people (raising their paws in agreement, "murping" in acknowledgment...). Seems odd, even for magical cats.

My reviews for previous volumes: Curiosity Thrilled the Cat, Sleight of Paw, Copycat Killing, and Cat Trick. My reviews for previous volumes: Curiosity Thrilled the Cat, Sleight of Paw, and Copycat Killing. This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite series! The characters are wonderful, the mysteries are good, I love the cats, and though larger events are moving slowly, I've been enjoying the ride. U...

It's winter in Mayville Heights, Minnesota and as you probably know, that means it is either: "About to Snow, Snowing, (or) Get Out the Shovel." Kathleen still loves living in this small town and is having second thoughts on whether she's going to go back to Boston when her contract ends. Those thou...

Confession time: I checked out this book because I loved The Whole Cat and Caboodle and couldn't take it was the only published volume so far. This series is an earlier one by the same author (even though the books carry different last names for the author) and has a handful of books already out. Th...

Quickish summary: With her sort-of boyfriend Marcus calling it quits and her ex-boyfriend Andrew showing up out of the blue, Kathleen has more than enough drama to deal with. Then a local theatre festival relocates to Mayville Heights. When the director, Hugh Davis, is found shot to death, he lea...
