I had this book on my "to read" pile and bumped it up to read sooner based on the 5 stars given by Sandra Brown - another author I really like. So far, the books I've read she has recommmeded, I've liked.I give this book a firm 4 stars. It could have been better, but was very good. The imagination n...

Historical Romance isn't my usual genre, and this book reminds me why! In my humble opinion, this book was written for someone with the intellect of a gnat! I get the notion of mindless pleasure reading, but this was a little "too mindless" for me!

Split narrative between a present day protagonist writer & her alter ego/ancestor that she is channelling in a book about the Scottish uprising. Well worth the time to read.
