This road trip describes a loop trip north from Los Angeles taking scenic Highway 395 along the eastern flank of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Mono Lake, across Tioga Pass to Yosemite National Park and south along the western flank back to Los Angeles, visiting King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks as well as over 100 locations along the way. For those of you who are familiar with the Mammoth Lakes area, this guide will provide you with lots of ideas for exploring the area as well as during the trip getting there. And for the rest of us, this guide will serve as an excellent introduction to scientifically interesting locations along both sides of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
