I liked the literary themes, the main character, and her relationship with her dad. The last third was a fantastic mystery story, and is the main reason this gets four stars. This book really disappointed me. I loved the first half. Then it disintegrated. Seems to have suffered from multiple personality disorder. What a shame!

I'd actually give this one a 2.5 out of 5 stars. This was a book club read, and it just didn't work for me.
