Cute contemporary that deals with some very real issues. Enjoyable read!

This book was fantastic! Not only does it approach the idea of anti-discrimination (and fabulously - attacking people is not good!) But it's was also a really cute and heartfelt story about living with mistakes and learning to get past that - changing your image of yourself and becoming a better per...

Before I read this book I wrote a paper on the word silence for my English class. I like to say I learn all there is about silence, but I really haven't. My definition on that word (and on any word for that matter) is going to continue to grow as I grow. I actually meant to read this book for more r...

Seen at Scott Reads It “Maybe when it comes down to it, what we're interested in doesn't mean-it's who you are that ties people together." "Hate is too easy, love takes courage." They say a picture is worth a 1000 words and Speechless's cover perfectly justifies that statement. Speec...

Cover Impressions: The cover is cute and effective but needs something to make it a little more eye catching. I am happy to see a cover model that seems to reflect the main character, but would have seen a bit more red to her hair. The Gist: Chelsea has spent most of her teenage years playing sideki...

I used to not like the UK paperback cover very much. But after reading the story I felt that it fits the book well.Chelsea wasn't an easy character to like or relate to because in real life, I'm not a huge fan of people who like to gossip about others or say demeaning things. But as the story contin...

A vow of silence? How long do you think you could make it without talking? Chelsea has always been a shadow and a Barbie. She has lived her life in the shadow of Kristen – doing what Kristen wanted, believing and going along with whatever Kristen said. Chelsea also was a replica of a Barbie, she ...

I liked this book a lot although going mute was something kinda stupid for the girl, and for the rest of the human being. I liked how the story unraveled but the stupid going mute thing kinda stomped on the last star, so 4 stars from me :)

This was a little gem of a book. I wasn't sure at first how much I was going to like it. It trod similar ground to several ya novels I have read in the past. Formerly popular bitchy girl on the outs with the popular crowd - check. Girl has to find new friends because the old ones no longer want anyt...

Even though I had issues accepting how easily Chelsea’s able to get on with her vow of silence, I ended up loving this book a lot. Enough that I’m interested in Harrington’s debut novel, Saving June, and I intend to read it sometime soon. While it is excessively irritating to be inside Chelsea’s hea...
