Killer (literally) opening scene in the insane asylum. Gin Blanco was a revelation; contract killer with a complicated history. Whilst there is some romance- this book is more action/adventure (the romance element developed in later books and done very well) Love this entire series.

4.5 Stars!Loved it! What's not to like.... Gin. a kick-ass heroine that's sassy, spunky, sexy, smart and confident....She is also an assassin... but only kills the bad ones. She is powerful, she can control the stone elements and then some, but she only use those as last resort, she relies on her sk...

I'm not really sure how I feel about this one. It was an interesting story, with a labyrinth of a plot. The characters, on the face of it, were interesting. Assassin chick. Heart-of-Gold homicide detective. Rich best friends with connections in diverse industries and undergrounds. Magic and supernat...

Very good book, outstanding in audio format. No, I'm not just now reading An Elemental Assassin Series. I started when they first came out and then got side tracked. That's happened to me on several series. Instead of starting where I left off, I'm starting from the very beginning on them. Plus...

Two things made this book fun: 1. The main character Gin is refreshingly amoral - no endless recriminations about "does being an assassin make me a bad person?" - no "only I can save the world" delusions - just a survivor doing the best she can and mostly putting herself first. 2. The spirite...

I quite enjoyed this book. Gin, or The Spider, is a badass chick killing the unfortunate people that crosses her path and humps the (few) ones that she does not kill with the same enthusiasm. The descriptions of said activities are in no way over the top but they are indeed graphical enough for me t...

Is it really necessary to say every freaking time that her eyes were gray? I get that it may be to empathize that her element was Stone or that she was cold, but seriously, it was ridiculous. "I opened my gray eyes"; "I rolled my gray eyes", "my gray eyes were tired". Or when Donovan Caine was invol...

review to come...I will continue this series with just a few reservations... Update 9.11.13This one is a hard one for me. I liked it. I like Gin. I like Gin a whole heck of a lot. Maybe I'm just in the wrong headspace. I'm in a real Urban Fantasy place right now and some Paranormal is not sitting ...

I've been making myself busy and at the same time trying to get myself sleep-deprived because of several series I started. *o* I started reading this series and I am quite hooked. The story line and the world around it is so exciting and dangerous. I like Gin. I like the mysteries involved around he...
