Wow, Mr. Sedaris. Really? I guess if we look at this publication as a therapeutic exercise for you to vent your hatred of the human race, you did a good job. But to categorize it as one of your wonderfully written, hysterical books that gently but truthfully ribs the weird and wonderful aspects of t...

David Sedaris is such a fudging ray of sunshine. I’m using the uncomfortable word “fudge” in this review as much as possible because I find it extra-obscene and sweetly domestic at the same time. Kind of like Sedaris. (Also, weirdly, I just found out that amazon.com will allow "fudge" as a replac...

Surprising and harsh like the animal world we resemble.

So far, this is probably my least favorite of David Sedaris' books. It's a shame, I was so looking forward to it...ETA: Now that I've finished, I stand by my original disappointment. Hmph.

Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk is a fable on amphetamine and licorice. Sedaris strikes the right chord with his sardonic depiction of woodland creatures emulating human role plays whilst imparting the acumen of logic and prejudicial edification that we seem to adhere with cynical normality.

This book will not be for everyone, even David Sedaris fans. What's so funny about it is how the animal characters have such human attributes, yet those attributes are still combined with their respective animal characteristics - very clever (but hard to explain). Yet it seemed like he may have been...

I was expecting something more lighthearted...I was surprised at how dark some stories were..

Sly, clever, funny. Great little observations on human foibles. The story with the crow & sheep made me sad. I saw it coming, but it was still horrible. The last story I did not see coming and laughed out loud. Great collection of shorts. Fast, easy read.

I would have preferred to give it 1 1/2 stars, but 1 star it will be. A plain and simple "meh" read.
