Another wonderfully entertaining Jackson Brodie mystery. Although Jackson is involved in much of the book, the retired police superintendent Tracy Waterhouse could be the main protagonist. This was a wild ride. I kept thinking, is this Jackson Brodie or is it Dirk Gently? Just when I thought I had things figured out, they got much more complex. It had me reading avidly until the last.

I love the addition of the dog....Not her best but I love her characters, her complicated but ultimately fulfilling plots and just for creating Jackson she deserves a four.

I was pleased that we got to learn a bit more about Jackson in this book, who has returned to his Yorkshire roots. In the previous novel, the author started with an "event" involving all ...
