Warning: sensitive kids might burst into tears whilst you are reading this story to them. From an adult point of view this book has beautiful pictures, is easy to understand and has a happy ending. But it seems children take the story more seriously, so if you reading it to a larger group of kids, be...

Stellaluna is the perfect book to read during the month of October for Halloween! One thing I like about this book is that it gives many details about bats and how they live. It introduces vocabulary words like echolocation and nocturnal. This would be a good book to read aloud with 1st, 2nd, and 3r...

This is a cute fiction book about bats. I would use this during the month of October when learning about bats. This book is a guided reading level N. It could be read aloud to 1st grade, but 2nd - 4th would have a better grasp on it.

When I was younger, I used to watch Reading Rainbow all the time. I adored that show! It's a show that teaches kids how to have a love for reading, and it introduced a lot of books with many diverse topics of people and culture. I LOVED, and still do, that show for opening up my mind whilst I was a ...

Stellaluna is a wonderful story about a young bat who falls from her mother's arms and lands right in a bird's nest among other baby birds. Stellaluna teaches the birds some of her tricks, and they teach Stellaluna some of theirs in return. At the end of the book, there are facts about bats which co...

Stellaluna is heartwarming story about a little bat that feels as if she doesn't belong. After many trials, Stellaluna realizes that she is meant to be a bat. I love this book because it has so many teaching points! Students will learn that they all belong somewhere, it just sometimes takes a little...
