Lovely little bite-size travelogue of the 50 states. Only criticism, much like the tv show it accompanied, is that some states are woefully undersold.
If you want an in depth look at the USA I suggest you find another book. However, if you want a slightly humorous and a very Fry centric view, read on!I never for once thought that he was going to do more then touch down, do a few highlighted things for each state then move on. I wasn't disappointed...
a far too brief skim over the bbc series of the same name. (which can only cover so much in each episode, as it is.) View the series, but the book is hardly a companion piece.
I enjoyed this, it was funny and interesting to see his point of view, but be warned that this was written for the British and he is speaking directly to them. Some of the explanations could be very confusing if you don't realize that. Even though this is a US edition, almost nothing is translated, ...
