Uh oh, I'm hooked on a new series!! So many books, so little time! At any rate, this is a good crime drama with a great lead detective character. The story progresses smoothly with strong supporting characters. While you may guess who the murderer is (I was pretty sure but not certain), you find tha...

I gobbled up this mystery set in the small town of Three Pines, in rural Quebec. A very rewarding read, and a commendable effort for a first novel. I will definitely read the next one in the series, A Fatal Grace.

Cozy mysteries typically aren't my thing but I have nothing against them, either. My mom loves this series and wanted me to read it so we can discuss it, thus, I am and we will. This is the first book in the series and this tiny, charming Quebecois town (I kept thinking it was British even though Mon...

WHY I WANT TO READ IT: Sounds like an English "cozy" mystery, but set in rural Canada. Sounds intriguing. I hear though, that the detective is happily married...now how can I fall in love with him if he isn't tragically single, brooding but tender inside, and in need of my care? Sigh. Still, it migh...

I wanted to like this more than I did. I didn't *dislike* this, but it was kind of lackluster. I wanted to read it because it's set in Quebec, and after enjoying that part of the Temperance Brennan series, I saw this at the library and grabbed it. I think the series will get better, because the sett...

Life and death in a small Canadian town. As much as everyone was talking about how wonderful the inspector was, he was okay to me. The rest of the story however I really enjoyed. I did like how the inspector tried to mentor a young detective and came up against a wall, usually in books or TV show...
