Janet Begay is a stormwalker: she can utilize the power of a storm, bending and controlling it to meet her desires. But this magic comes at a price - it leaves her physically drained and sick. Only her mysterious ex-boyfriend, Mick, can absorb the excess magic and help Janet stay sane. But Mick is...

Rating: 3.5Not a bad series start! This is a very western-America-centric book, starring a Navajo stormwalker (you guessed it; she can control storms) named Janet Begay. Janet's proud of her Dine heritage and as such the book is flavored with Native American....uh...flavor. ^_^ Her big challenge in ...

I also think this is a good start to the series, great characters, and the writing was good as well. The problem for me is subplots are everywhere. Allyson James builds a believable and rich world with wonderfully complex and flawed characters. I loved the relationships that Janet forges throughout the book. None of them are easy, and she has to really look at herself and the choices she's forced to make. Can't wait for Firewalker!
