Another entry in the Dresden series of fun swashbuckling paranormal pot boilers. Once more Harry wades into the fray against an overwhelming sea of assorted monsters determined to seduce and/or kill and/or manipulate him and gets the crap beat out of him for many pages until - armed only with sarca...
I loved this book . . . a lot. It had everything in it that I expected out of another Dresden book, and in a good way. If you liked the first few books, this one shouldn't disappoint you. Humor, action, gore, awesome characters, the works.
I really enjoyed this Dresden Files book. [a:Jim Butcher|10746|Jim Butcher|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1205261964p2/10746.jpg] did an excellent job of using language to create scenes in the Summer and Winter Courts that were very easy to visualize. The Summer and Winter queens were also extraor...
A character I met and really liked in this book dies which I found incredibly sad although it didn't seem to me that much time was spent on this. Harry is pushed and pulled and prodded and I don't know how he takes it!
It looks like the people that complained about how much of a sexist pig Harry Dresden is (or the author for that matter) have probably given up by this book (unless it is the first book read). I cannot speak for the author because I can only go by what is in his books, and, well, I guess every autho...
I keep trying these books - mostly because I like Dresden's sense of humor - but I never really like the books at all. After Grave Peril, I was a little hesitant to pick up the next Dresden book. Not because I don't like the story, but because book 3 was very dark and sad. The bottom line is that Jim Butcher is an amazing story teller. He has a talent for bringing to life his world and his hero in a way that few au...
All reviews for books 1-6 found here: The Dresden Files Collection 1-6.Summer Knight 4 stars This book was all about the fae. Once again, I wasn't really sure who had done what until Dresden pointed it out. And then it made perfect sense. I would have never figured it out on my own, but it made sens...
A good Dresden episode. We got to know a lot of new elements, interesting world building with the faeries and the Sidhe and all.And I still think "Nevernever" is a remarkably dumb name for the spirit world.
