I love an urban fantasy that builds out more than the main character and their magical drama. Lon as a "dad" is kind of amorphous, but Jupe is the cutest step-son a girl could hope for.
I'm enjoying this UF series. I particularly like the lack of a love triangle. Cady & Lon act like an actual grown up couple. They talk about things and don't hide things from each other. The magic system here is more robes & symbols high ceremonial magic than you usually find in UF, which is als...
I'm not exactly sure how I first started this series. I think it was one of those Tara recommendations. I remember liking the world, but not so fond of the age difference between Cady and Lon. I probably wouldn't have picked up Summoning the Night on my own, BUT not only did Kelly give me a copy of ...
Another solid 3.5 stars for this installment. Love the refreshing maturity (no dig at Lon's age intended HA) of the romantic relationship. Also there were like HALF the mustache references this time around so SUCCESS.
Summoning the Night by Jenn Bennett was an awesome read. I literally read the book in one day; I could not put it down. Excitement, edge of your seat action, and a few Indiana Jones-type moments made this book one of my favorite urban fantasy reads of this year. This is a cool world. Earthbound demo...
I think I said it again in the last review, but I'll say it again! I Love Jupe!!!! :D I know he is not the main main character, but he is the best! :D That kid always cracks me up! And now that he also has a kick-ass power... Watch out people! :D Arcadia was one of my favorite books last year and it...
Summoning the Night is a fantastic UF followup to [[ASIN:B004G8QSEE Kindling the Moon (Arcadia Bell)]]. I loved this book for so many reasons, but here are just a few: 1) The mystery that Summoning was centered around was great, with enough twists and turns to keep me interested and invested. This...
One of my top five favorite reads for 2012!The sassy magician Arcadia Bell is back and better than ever! After her near death experience in Kindling the Moon, Cady's life is starting to get back to normal...well her kind of normal. She's dating demon hottie Lon Butler and is back to business at her ...
