Today I was browsing through the Kindle Daily Deal books and there were so many that I couldn't help but buy a few. I picked up I, Claudius by Robert Graves, Claudius the God by Robert Graves, and The End of Innocence by Allegra Jordan.

Thank you Net Galley and Sourcebooks for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I'm new to the historical fiction genre, having only read 6 or 7 books and enjoyed them. That, however, is not the case with this book.
It was very slow to get started and once it did, I enjoyed it. Then the story was bogged down with descriptions of just about everything the author could see which added nothing to the story. I mean the descriptions were there throughout the book, but seemed many times to be thrown in for word count.
I didn't like the last third of this book at all. It too, seemed added to increase the word count. I do believe there is a good story here with the story of Helen and Wils and also the story of Wils and Riley, however the author has made it too tedious to get through to the real story.
