Murderous Muffins (Cozy Mystery) Book #2 (Chubby Chicks Club Cozy Mystery Series) - Lois Lavrisa

Second in the Chubby Chicks series. This story focuses on and is narrated by Bezu as she attempts to keep her family home by taking in boarders. One of the boarders is poisoned by eating her muffins  and Bezu, with help from Cat, must solve the crime.

Nice cozy mystery read through Kindle and listened through Audible using immersion reading. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the various characters to life. While some parts of the story strain credibility, it is overall an enjoyable read with captivating characters

Dying for Dinner Rolls - Lois Lavrisa

Enjoyable little cozy read through Whispersync/Immersion reading. The narrator does a great job of voicing all the different characters.

The book is populated by zany, quirky characters with the main ones being members of the Chubby Chicks Club. One of their members die and  two members, Cat and Anna Mae, work together to prove it wasn't a suicide and to solve the murder.  The Quirky and appealing nature of these characters makes it possible to overlook the few implausible parts of the story while some of the situations they find themselves in are truly funny.

Whispersync/Immersion Read
Medicus (Gaius Petreius Ruso #1) - Ruth Downie

I read the Kindle and bought the Audible for this first in the series mystery about a doctor in the Roman army serving in Britain during the Roman occupation. The doctor investigates the murder of a girl found floating in the river and rescues an injured slave girl. The girl, Tillia, naturally contributes to the story as their relationship progresses.

I always struggle with rating a Whispersync/immersion read because a great narrator can obviously enhance the reading experience. This has never been more true since the narrator for this book is Simon Vance. He is spectacular.

Thoroughly enjoyed the audio book - 4.5 - 5 stars

Definitely enjoyed kindle version - 4 stars

I will be continuing with the series
