Nelson Mandela’s Favorite African Folktales
Nelson Mandela's Favorite African Folktales - Nelson Mandela

Do not read this, listen to it.

Besides the veritable buffet of Hollywood A-listers from various ethnic backgrounds providing narrations, there’s beautiful music and songs in the interludes between stories and in the stories themselves. I’ve derived much enjoyment from the imaginative and enthusiastic performances from the narrators, most of whom possess great skills with accents. Even if you don’t recognise a couple of the narrators’ names, odds are you’d recognise their faces.

Whoopi Goldberg and Hugh Jackman’s performances were outstanding though most were above average.

Urban legends, origin stories, fables, parables, myths, magic, time travel, African versions of well-known fairy tales, clever and devious characters, and emotionally touching stories – what more could you want?

Well, the publisher has donated 100% of its takings from the audio to Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and Artists for New South Africa who work with children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Here’s a rundown of the folktales:

Jack & Jill (Audio)
Jack & Jill (Audio) - John Rubinstein,James Patterson,Blair Underwood Jack & Jill (Alex Cross #3)

There isn't much I can say about the book or the author. I love the Alex Cross series. I was hooked with "A Long Came a Spider," and "Kiss the Girls."

Jack and Jill is a fast pace, riveting, suspense/thriller. This is a novel I would love to watch on the big screen!

James Patterson is an Master at character development, which is such an essential element in the craft of writing. Plot development received excellent support from its chapter development and suspenseful sub-plotting.

Jack and Jill is an assassination team that terrorize the DC area, and puts Capital Hill on high alert. they are highly skilled, highly effective, and Alex is placed right in the middle of their carnage and rampage to execute the President of the United States.

So go find your favorite chair, a pot of coffee, or coco, and whatever else you need to be comfortable, while James takes you on this emotional roller-coaster with Alex Cross to uncover the reason why these ghost has come out to kill in this 5 star read.

Casanegra - Blair Underwood,Tananarive Due,Steven Barnes Casanegra is the story of Tennyson "Ten" Hardwick - out-of-work actor, former gigolo, son of a retired cop with a heart problem... One fine day, he's in the hood when he stops for lunch. And his life gets waaaaaaay complicated. There's murder. Gangs. Gangsta rappers. Crooked cops. And Ten finds himself the main suspect in not one, but two murders. So he does what any self-respecting (or not) dude can do - try to figure out whodunnit. Before he's another lifeless body to add to the count...This was a fast & engrossing read. Finished it last night (I needed something to take my mind off read # 59). And knowing that Blair Underwood wrote it, it wasn't hard to imagine him in the role of "Ten"...ps - There's sex scenes here too. Not so many to distract from the story, which is good.
