Book Playlist Challenge - Day 30 - Experimental
The Monster at the End of This Book (Sesame Street) - Jon Stone,Mike Smollin
Where the Sidewalk Ends: Poems and Drawings - Shel Silverstein
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day - Ray Cruz,Judith Viorst
The Berenstain Bears Forget Their Manners - 'Stan Berenstain', 'Jan Berenstain'
Little Miss Sunshine - Roger Hargreaves

It's the last day of the challenge! I MADE IT! Although, not always on time, but I still made it. So for experimental day we can pick any music genre/theme and make a prompt. So, my genre is Kids Bop. Here are my favorite kids books!

And on a sidenote: the sequel to The Monster At the End of This Book is complete crap (and yes, I saw it in the store as an adult and bought it... don't judge me!)

Book Playlist Challenge - Day 29 - Stoner Rock
The Shambling Guide to New York City - Mur Lafferty
Wicked as They Come - Delilah S. Dawson
In a Fix - Linda Grimes

Day 29 is for books that were weird so I immediately referred to my "so very odd" shelf to see what to pick.

The Shambling Guide to NYC is definitely one of the more unusual urban fantasies I've read. I really enjoyed the first part of the book, but I think it went a bit downhill toward the end.

I absolutely loved Wicked As They Come, but it is crazy odd. (In fact it's the whole reason I created the so very odd shelf.) Blud bunnies, clockworks, time travel... oh my!

In a Fix was a unique idea but unfortunately it was rather poorly executed.

Last day of the challenge tomorrow!!!

Book Playlist Challenge - Day 28 - Country
Sunset Island - Cherie Bennett

I'm a day late, but better late than never. For the country theme I was supposed to find a book that was high on the nostalgia factor, so I picked Sunset Island. I was obsessed with this series in my pre-teen years. It reminds me of summer break and bringing home big stacks of books from the library. These were the years when I really fell in love with reading.

Book Playlist challenge - Day 27 - Rock
Kiss of Steel - Bec McMaster

So, for day 27 I had to find a book that blew me away. There have been many over the years, but this one immediately came to mind because it was so unexpected. I was not at all convinced I would even like it. I read way less in the paranormal sub-genre now and I'm much pickier about the books I do read. Also, steampunk is not always my thing. Sometimes I have trouble visualizing all the weird gadgets and what not that go along with it. So, my expectations were low when I picked up this book. Imagine my surprise when this book grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go until I reached the end! It's such an awesome book and series.

Book Playlist Challenge - Day 25 & 26 - Old School & Musical
The Secret - Julie Garwood
Bitter Spirits (Roaring Twenties) - Jenn Bennett

I have been so insanely busy the past few days I didn't even have time to schedule my post for yesterday, so I'm putting both of this weekends posts together. It's multi-tasking!

For day 25, I was supposed to pick a book that has stayed with me for many years. I picked The Secret. It was one of my very first adult romances and is one of the reasons that I have grown to love historicals so much. I read it dozens of times. I still own a copy (not the original one I bought second hand because the cover finally fell off of it) but I haven't read it for many years. It may be time to break it out and give it another read.

For day 26, I was tasked with finding a book that would make a good musical. I'll be honest, nothing immediately popped into my head. After some thought, I picked Bitter Spirits because I think it would be pretty cool as a musical. You've gotta love 20s music!
