Changing the Game
Changing The Game - Jaci Burton
The Characters:

Elizabeth Darnell
Gavin Riley

The Story:

I really enjoyed this story and I’m glad I didn’t follow my first thoughts of quitting listening to it. I did not consider quitting because of the writing but because of the narrator. While she didn't do a bad job I sometimes she ran everything together and some of her pronunciations took me out of the story. I prefer to be able to lose myself in the characters. Anyhooo I enjoyed further getting to know the Riley family. I’m reading/listening to this very out of order so it’s been and it has experience going back to the “before” if you will for some characters.

Gavin and Elizabeth have rocking chemistry. I like how they are connected before starting a relationship. I still don’t know why Gavin was so moody blues in the beginning but it all worked out so we’ll just overlook that.

Changing the Game
Changing the Game - Jaci Burton I'm all over the place with my feelings about this book. (well from 2.5 to 3.5)

It was my second Jaci Burton, and I enjoyed the first. I do feel like these have a better level of maturity than most sports romances, and I've grown to enjoy the family dynamic quite a bit.

Also, the sex in this book was very very delicious. I added one star because of that.

That Gavin saw through Elizabeth's tough exterior I loved. He was clearly interested in her, his straight dirty talk was yummy, but what I didn't quite buy was his reluctance to admit he was in love. Or even in like. He seemed to clearly understand that he had deep affection from the get go.

While his issues were different from Mick's, they aren't as compelling (in ways), and I cannot say that I can distinguish the heroes in the two books. Her heroines are unique, however. In the same turn, Tara's and Elizabeth's reluctance are very similar and manifests for two different reasons in the same way.

I'll continue to read this series. I mean I really enjoyed the hot scenes enough to see if the characters start to seem more developed and unique in the future books. If it continues to feel like setting and sports get swapped out along with hero/heroines names, I'll begin passing on Jaci Burton books.

And that star I added for great sexy times...I take away for goatees. You've been warned, authors.

Changing His Game
Changing His Game (Entangled Brazen) (Gamers) - Megan Erickson

This looked interesting, somewhat up my alley and I was eager to read it.  I've read other books by Megan Erickson that I enjoyed.  This one was just okay for me.

Marley is an editor at Gamers magazine.  Austin is part owner of Gamers magazine and he's the author of the video game that Marley loves, Aric's Revenge.  Marley thinks he is an IT guy who provides computer support for magazine employees.  Austin does not correct her.  He never willingly corrects her impression of his job description, although it's very clear to her how secretive and private he is.

Their sexual relationship is quite hot.  Although, when they begin referring to each other as Aric and Evelyn (heroine of the video game) during the act, it totally took away from the scenes.

I was also uncomfortable with the relationship between Austin and his business partner (Marley's boss), Grant. They are LONG time friends, but something about the tone surrounding their relationship had me expecting that a secret sexual relationship between them would be revealed.
