I love the textiles in this book. It's worth reading just to look at the illustrations. I like that it's a story about life after camp. Sometimes it feels like all stories about internment focus on the injustice of being locked up, and no one talks about what happened after everyone was released.
On a completely unrelated note I really want to read a story about a family that decides to go east. Most stories I've read (if not all of them) have their characters returning to the west coast.
