There are some journeys too complex to describe. Some battles not easily won. Laura throws caution to the wind and speaks from the heart. When a Heart Trips seeks to understand the emotions invoked by love. From first love to heartache, Devon and Julian engulfed me in their angstful, love song. It's chaotic. It's emotional. It's captivating.

This book has some great material. I love the restorative practices for classroom management approach. The basic idea is to create a respectful classroom environment and teach students how to work through issues and resolve conflicts. Classrooms should be welcoming, constructive environments built on mutual respect and focused on encouraging student achievement.

 

The authors provide practical suggestions for how to implement the suggested practices and strategies. There is a lot of focus on building relationships: students to students & student to teacher.

 

This book is a must-read for any teacher - we must focus on developing compassion, relationship skills, and empathy in our students. We want them to learn more than just reading, writing & arithmetic (and tech skills). We want to help develop thoughtful, respectful, and intuitive adults.

 

An anthology of French Christmas short stories, from 19th century classics to contemporary, up to and including stories published in 2017.  "Nobody does Christmas like the French" is, of course, monumental sales hyperbole (and that's not even taking into account the ubiquitous non-French usual suspects like Dickens's Christmas Carol and E.T.A. Hoffmann's Nutcracker), but the stories included are enjoyable enough, even if (on balance) a bit on the preachy side.

 

Since several of these stories are set in Paris, I'm using this as my book for the 24 Festive Tasks - International Day for Tolerance square.  Since one of the anthologized stories is by Irène Némirovsky, I'm also using it for the "N" square of the Women Writers Bingo.

 

She thought she understood love. Turns out she knew nothing at all. I was drawn to Distorted Loyalty by two things. The complicated plot and the dual narration. Stacy Eaton weaves an intricate tale of betrayal, pain and new beginnings that is realistically profound. Rachel and Grant are caught up in a firestorm. There is no dousing the flames of emotional revelations, temptation and heartache headed their way. Rose and Chamberlain are a dynamic duo when it comes to tugging at the heart.

I have read one book in this set previously so I am leaving my review for that book. I also have read the following books in this set and leaving reviews for those. All of these books are sexy, short, intense and every paranormal romance lovers dream read. I enjoyed each one.

Alpha Squad: Boot Camp by Lorelei Moone
If you read the previous series by this author then you will know where some of the characters in this book come from. The shifters came out and now they are building a Alpha Squad to help ease fears and to keep the peace. The problem is not all are on-board or honest in this endeavor.
Eric and his brother Adam are all in and head out to join this squad but Eric is not prepared for what happens.
His Major is none other than a woman he has thought about since seeing her in a restaurant. Now what is he to do? Janine is she human? Well she can all of a sudden hear Eric' thoughts.
If you love shifters and a bit of action with a touch of spice then pick up this book. It can be read as a stand-alone as it's a first in a new series. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.

An Alpha's Second Chance by Dominique Eastwick
New to me author.
Wow this one gives us a variety of shifters. Pretty good story here. And when one of the shifters knows his mate is a human ranger what will happen? Well follow Lars and finds out.


Choices by H.M. McQueen
New to me author.
This was thrilling to read. We get a variety of paranormal beings. And a bond that was a mistake?
Aside from some missing words here and there this was really good.

Charmed Wolf by Lia Davis
New to me author.
This was a very intense book with a battle of Alpha's.
Deception, Abuse, and Heartbreak and hopefully Glory all play apart.
The story kept me enthralled although there were missing words here and there.
