The Lei Crime Series: A Snake in Paradise (Kindle Worlds Novella) - Eden Baylee

"The Lei Crime Series: A Snake in Paradise (Kindle Worlds Novella)" by Eden Baylee is a very impressive crime novella set in Hawaii. It starts with a powerful prologue which features a woman waking up tied up. It leaves the reader with a lot of questions and curiosity for the chapters to come.
Then the actual story begins. Recently divorced Lainey Lee arrives in Hawaii, with a pinch of bitterness and reflection and an appetite to enjoy herself.
She has a snake tattoo that was given to her by her best friend in a symbolic gesture of redefining herself and finding herself.I've read about the book on the author's blog before its released and have speculated about the title of a 'snake in paradise' for some time. There were also music lyrics mentioned in her blog post that befit the theme of dealing with a snake. And a snake will be found indeed.
As single woman Lainet soon gets attention from men on the island, some unwanted and some wanted, which kicks of the mystery and suspense part of the story.
Written with great sensitivity the characters are excellently drawn, the dialogues are sharp and poignant and the plot is well thought out.
An engaging, entertaining and stimulating read. Very enjoyable.

Very enjoyable
Act Three - Eden Baylee

"Act Three" by Eden Baylee is a very entertaining erotic story about relationships and keeping the spark alive. Explicit sex but with a deep understanding of how sex is an expression and representation of the relationship as a whole, the couple try role play and other kinky stuff, too.
Very playful and light hearted this is hugely enjoyable, yet, quite profound and very well plotted.
Really loved this.

"Unlocking the Mystery" by Eden Baylee is a beautiful short story about a woman who finds out more about the previous owner of her property. There is a great connection between the past and the present in this wonderful romantic story, interesting characters and love. Captivating, well written and heart warming.

Unlocking the Mystery
Unlocking the Mystery - Eden Baylee

Evelyn Sutton is a powerhouse real-estate agent in California.  She enjoys her job, but is an introvert and leaves little time for any romantic relationships. When a historic house she has had her eye on comes onto the market, Evelyn swoops in and purchases the house.  The former resident, Caroline, has passed.  Evelyn finds a mysterious key in her closet that belonged to Caroline; after some digging, Evelyn finds what the key opens and goes on a trip that will change her heart.

This is an erotic novella, I usually do not read erotica or books heavy on romance, but this story was perfect for me.  Driven by strong characterization and a good mystery, I was immediately drawn in.  Even though this is a novella, I felt like I got to know and could relate to Evelyn's hard-working but shy character as well as Caroline's character through some of the sensuous letters.  The mystery of the box and Evelyn's quest was engaging, timeless and with the right amount of romance and eroticism for me.

Stranger at Sunset
Stranger at Sunset - Eden Baylee

This was a psychological thriller that I could not put down. From the prologue, an intriguing scene is set that left me with many questions to be answered. Through binoculars, a man watches a woman throw another man off a balcony and into the ocean. Who is the woman, who is the dead man and why?

A group of strangers arrives at a small Jamaican resort, the Sunset Villa. After Hurricane Sandy and a negative review, the Sunset Villa is having a hard time financially. Among the people at the resort are Matthew, the strange man who wrote the scathing review who is back at the request of the owners, Jessica and Rob, a Price is Right showcase winner and her boyfriend, and some regulars including Kate, a psychiatrist.

Strong, engaging characters drove this story as well as a good mystery and an engaging crime. Kate's character drew me in, she is not only a good at her job, but she has an eidetic memory and is hiding something from her past. She returns to Sunset Villa not only because it is her favorite vacation spot, but because she feels a fierce loyalty to the friends who are the owners. She agrees to help the owners try to figure out the strange reviewer, Matthew. I loved one of Kate's devices when she meets a new person, taking the first three letters of their name and assigning an adjective for their personality. This was a great way for me to get a quick feel for each of the very different characters introduced throughout the book. The writing style kept me guessing to the end like a good mystery should. The way that the murder was committed was incredibly unique and the ending was unexpected.
