Winter Olympics!
Going for the Gold - Emma Lathen

Realising that the Winter Olympics are only a week away, I dug out my favourite Winter Olympics novel. "Going for the Gold" by Emma Lathen is a lot of fun. It's a murder mystery, but it's also a touch cynical about life and high finance, clever, nicely written and ... let's be honest. I'm a HUGE fan of Emma Lathen's writing (actually two authors, see Wikipedia) who also wrote as RB Dominic. Any excuse for a re-read is a good one!

Sadly I haven't found her books re-published in digital format, but if you can track down paperback copies, enjoy these old non-gory mysteries.

Come to Dust: An Inner Sanctum Mystery - Emma Lathen

Usually this is one of my favorite series but I found this entry to be a bit lacking. Though well written I just could not get engaged in the plot and thought the main character, Wall Street banker John Putnam Thatcher, was too much of a supporting player.

Another well written and witty entry in this series.
