A Rose is a Rose by Jet Mykles
A Rose is a Rose - Jet Mykles

GR Cleanup Read February 2011

This was a super sweet confection about the love that blooms between a beautiful androgynous drama queen and a staid, quiet, building superintendent who soothes and feeds him when he's a weepy mess. Le Sigh. I loved both characters who fit together so well despite their many differences. Nothing deep but worth a read.

Two Man Team
Two Man Team - Jet Mykles 2.5 stars

I knew this would have MFM scenes in it, but I wasn’t expecting this many scenes. And how loooooong and detailed those scenes would be.

image

But I got through it hoping Jason and Davey would start a curious, but hot and loving relationship, with them being best friends and all.

But yet again I was wrong.

image

Davey was kind of an ass to Jason. He was too much ‘this is just sex, don’t think anything about it’ for me. He hurt Jason. I didn’t like it.

image

Eventually they talk about their feeling (or yell to each other with an entire audience present), but Davey still had trouble dealing with the whole relationship thing. These guys do get their HEA, but for me it was a shaky one.

And I have to say, what the heck was with all the talk about the four friends having had sex with their friend Jen in the previous book. They had a wild night, Jason, Davey, two friends and Jen, and right after that Ken (who didn’t participate in the orgy!) was so jealous he asked her to marry him.

I don’t think the author and I have the same view on what is hot and what is not…

Bravo! Brava!
Bravo! Brava! - Jet Mykles,J.P. Bowie,Kimberly Gardner Cross dressing and lingerie on men is totally my bag. Unfortunately, this was a big let down.
The first 2 stories by Jet Mykle and J.P. Bowie were poorly edited and underdeveloped. The 2nd story was a mess of too many characters and confusing plot.

While I liked the Kimberly Gardner story best, it too left me wanting more emotion and development. It didn't have the same amount of editing problems thankfully.

The whole antho (in Kindle) was terribly formatted too. Font sizes changing, text just running on without any indexing for different stories. Kind of a mess.

Jet Mykles – Naughty and Nice
Naughty and Nice - Jet Mykles

Reviewer: Vivian

Genre: M/M Holiday

Review:
A Christmas story that is adorable, sweet and toothy.

Rom has been Dasher, the lead reindeer in Santa's team for the last ten years. Fun loving and footloose, he's never wanted anything more.

Shaw's the epitome of bookworm, he works as an archivist and meets Rom while enquiring for the Records. He doesn't buy what Rom is selling or even show a smidge of interest and that has Rom piqued.

Love the representation of Santa's Workshop and the Village. There's life beyond the handlers and sleigh. Loved the social divide and the misconceptions on both sides.

Rom is stymied

Shaw is shy

Confusion abounds

One of the fascinating aspects is how gender is not relevant in the shapeshifter aspect of either Santa or the reindeer. It's a clever little story that makes it all seem so simple.

Favorite quote:

To lighten the mood, Rom ripped his own shirt up and over his head, then spread his arms, preening. “You’re welcome to say something great about me.”
