STRIKE ZONE by Kate Angell
Strike Zone - Kate Angell

Brek and Taylor were engaged but she left him at the altar to guide a Thrill Seeker trip. He is now engaged to a quiet sedate woman which is what brings Taylor home. When they meet again Brek tries to show how little she means to him. He learns a lot of things--especially that she is still important to him.

Also Taylor's sister Eve who runs the Thrill Seekers office finds romance with Brek's teammate Sloan. He thinks he'll teach her but she teaches him what is means to truly love. When it looks like he might lose her he goes big.

I enjoyed this book. I liked Brek and Taylor. I loved Eve and watching her get the better of Sloan. The other secondary characters are also good. I'd like to see read of their stories especially Kasen (I hope he has one.)

That Mistletoe Moment
That Mistletoe Moment - Allyson Charles,Cat Johnson,Kate Angell

As with just about all anthologies, some stories are better than others and that was the case with this one too. The 1st story- A Boyfriend by Christmas was the best and if I rated this story by itself, this would be 4*. Noelle and George have been dating almost 5 years. They grew up together, but didn't start dating until they were in college. Their parents are friends and next door neighbors. After having (finally) realized he really wasn't just that into her/right for her Noelle breaks up with him. On Thanksgiving. Her sister sets her up with a fake boyfriend app. Noelle accidentally texts the wrong person (Nathan) and a relationship begins. I thought Noelle was a little batty, but relate-able and I liked her. I also liked Nathan. The romance helps fast, but I didn't really have a problem with that.
All I Want for Christmas 2*
Didn't like Daniel.
Her Favorite Present 2*
Gabe is one of the founders of the fake boyfriend app. I couldn't warm up to him. He had a less than favorable opinion of the people (mainly women) who used his app.
For romance-opoly using this for the last mystery square (and only one more to go!)

He's the One
He's the One - Cat Johnson,Kate Angell,Lucy Monroe,Linda Lael Miller

Taken all together a 2* is the most I can rate this book.  The 1st 4 in this were meh (and Shalvis's was disappointing- Ella was TSTL).  I'm not going to waste my time.  But the last story- Fish Out of Water (Cat Johnson) was the best.  This story was a strong 3.5* for me.  I enjoyed the swap- a cowgirl meets nerdy professor.  Carla was likable and I thought her insecurities were understandable.  I also liked Mark and thought he was a good fit.  My only issue was it was too short!

Snow One Like You
Snow One Like You - Kate Angell

Allie and Rhys have been best friends since they were little. Each one scared to take the next step. Until one day when mistletoe happened. This was a nice, short story with the friends to lovers trope. Both characters are ambitious, loving towards animals (they raise from calves a pair of moose twins). They wasn't anything about them I didn't like. Of course in novellas, things happen quickly. There were times I wanted more.

Really liked the title!

Good Story and Characters
That Mistletoe Moment - Allyson Charles,Cat Johnson,Kate Angell A Boyfriend For Christmas - Noelle had dated George for five years and expects a proposal of marriage. Then George lets Nicole know he had never thought of marrying her. Then Nicole buys the build a boyfriend app as she refuses to attend the holiday party alone as George will be there. Nicole then names her fake boyfriend Nathan after a guy she met at the grocery store. Then Nicole accidentally texts the real Nathan and Noelle invites him to her family’s Christmas eve party. All I Want For Christmas - Daniel is a CEO who needs a personal shopper. His previous personal shopper fell in love with Daniel Daniel made sure the three shoppers he was interviewing were women who all had someone already. He has three women to choose from and tells each woman to get a present that they believe will call to him. Whoever gets the best gift will get the job. Riley ends up with the job but then Riley ends up snowed in the building from a snowstorm overnight and with no power. Her Favorite Present - Gabe is one of the inventors of the build a boyfriend app doesn’t get into Christmas. Gabe is told he has to get to know one of the apps clients on a personal level. Gabe thinks of their clients in a certain way and his co-founder doesn’t agree. But when Gabe meets Rachel she is not what he thought she would be like. I liked all these stories one better than the other two but all three stories are good as far I am concerned. I am sure everyone will find at least one they will enjoy. I like the characters and the ins and outs of these stories and I recommend.
