Too Late... I Love You
Too Late... I Love You - Kiki Archer Connie Parker is in her early twenties and mother of a three-year-old. She had got pregnant without quite planning for it and chooses to be a stay-at-home mom. Her relationship with her boyfriend, Kurt, isn’t all that great. In fact, the author has written a very realistic relationship where both want to try making it better each time they are alone, but the interaction is so broken that together they just cannot get it right. Connie sublimates her romanticism into writing during those little pockets of time that bringing up her baby gives her.

During one of her kiddie-activity she meets Maria, another mom with a three-year-old. Maria is completely put together, seemingly out-of-Connie’s-league rich, warm, funny and openly gay. Maria extends the hand of friendship to Connie and slowly they start spending time together.

As Connie’s relationship with Kurt deteriorates, her relationship with Maria thrives and grows…so much so that the book she is writing began with cynicism about love and is growing into a romance.

A Fairytale of Possibilities
A Fairytale of Possibilities - Kiki Arch... A Fairytale of Possibilities - Kiki Archer I'm cruising through Amazon looking for funny. Looking for easy. Looking for a HEA. When I stumbled upon this recently released gem. If you are in the mood for rom-com where both characters are adorably quirky, I'd recommend this read.

It is sweet and any storyline tension are soon made to easy sailing. The dialogue is wonderfully snappy and funny from all the main and supporting characters. It's like watching a perfect comedy of errors to have one you think you can't have be the one for you. Lauren and Rachel were completely relatable in their story. It's difficult to move from best friends to lovers. They trip a bit getting there, but in the end the story leaves you with a warm HEA.

4.5 out of 5 stars

But She Is My Student
But She Is My Student - Kiki Archer This book has some issues. I read it almost in one shot, so I cannot say I didn't like it, but still it has issues.
One of the main character Kat is really, really too passive. The reader feels with her and feels for her, but, come on, girl, do something! Your nihilism is exasperating.
Also, I had some problems to follow the narrative thread, because of the frequent, unexpected change of point of view.
And I didn't find Kat's friends really endearing.
Feelings of the main characaters are the strenght of this novel. I felt for them.

Too Late... I Love You
Too Late... I Love You - Kiki Archer I loved this book and smiled along as I read this latest novel from Ms Archer. I have only read three of her books, working on the fourth, and have to admire her ability with language and conversation, creating likable characters (or the opposite), pacing the story so that one keeps thinking, "another few pages and I shall go to bed".

Also, I always seem to have a firm visual of what is happening with the story as if a movie is playing in my mind at the same time. This does not come from too much description by the author but from some gift she possesses. This book does not need a category or label to succeed or be appealing, it is a good story, a great read, both humorous and endearing. It is definitely not a routine book following any formula.

The only real problem I had with "Too late… I love you" was when a client called and I had to put it down for four hours.

One Foot Onto the Ice
One Foot Onto the Ice - Kiki Archer I enjoy how Ms Archer's mind works. Easily pictured settings with likable (or knowable) characters and humor sprinkled throughout the book freely. I loved the character of Susan, always thinking, thinking too much and hilarious as she does so. The other minor characters were hilarious. Now I am able to read the sequel :)
