Star Trek: Invasion Series
First Strike - Diane Carey
The Soldiers of Fear (Star Trek: The Next Generation, #41) - Dean Wesley Smith,Kristine Kathryn Rusch
Time's Enemy - L.A. Graf
The Final Fury (Star Trek: Voyager, No 9: Invasion Book No 4) - Dafydd ab Hugh

I found this cross-series collection of novels all dealing with the same enemy but in different ways, in different times and sections of space to be an interesting concept.  The separate novels were entertaining and fairly well-written for this type of novel.

CODE OF CONDUCT by KRISTINE SMITH
Code of Conduct - Kristine Smith

I was a lot confused reading this book. I had the short-story prequel and really liked it. This is 15-ish years later. I'm not exactly sure what/who the female protagonist is - ex-soldier, document reviewer, alien, cyborg. The main bad guy (there are many) for this story wasn't really a surprise. Even though I'm confused, I still enjoyed the book. So I'm reading the rest of the series.

The Long Night
The Long Night - Dean Wesley Smith,Kristine Kathryn Rusch Even though it had some of the same themes as the last book in the series "Station Rage" this one was a real page turner. Good story. Solid character development. Worth a read for all fans of DS9.

Reading progress update: 37% of "The Modern Fae's Guide to Surviving Humanity"
The Modern Fae's Guide to Surviving Humanity - Joshua Palmatier,Patricia Bray,Seanan McGuire,Kari Sperring

DISCLAIMER: A review in progress as each story is read from someone really horrrible with reading and reviewing anthologies and short stories/works.

This one was picked up because I'm a fan of Joshua Palmatier and kept reading his posts about the project and seeing lots of favorite authors:

★★½☆☆

"To Scratch An Itch" by Avery Shade

I suspect this one was a short clip of a bigger story.  Writing was fine; but, so short I really didn't get to form an opinion.  The main character and POV is from a little girl, daughter of a "weatherman," who first uses her powers, gets scared, runs off, classmate brings her back home and it ends before she even confesses to her parents.  Might be more geared to middle grade or YA but too brief to really tell.  Too brief for any worldbuilding (just an unspecified city apartment).

Endgame - Kristine Smith

I should continue reading this just to finish off the series, but I have really lost a lot of interest. Plus, blech, John Shroud. His character grosses me out in a very visceral way (behavior-wise, not based on physical description). It irritates me that it seems like he's Jani's endgame (hah!) partner.
