Lord of the Wolfyn – Jessica Anderson
Lord of the Wolfyn (Royal House of Shadows, #3) - Jessica Andersen

I've always been baffled by books that are put out with spoilers in the blurbs – like mysteries telling who the victim in chapter 5 is going to be – or even in the jacket art. Putting one in the title, though, is even dumber than having a title which actually means little to the story (thinking of Across the Nightingale Floor here). On page 172 of Lord of the Wolfyn (about which title I wondered, since the main character is many things but not Lord of the Wolfyn), something happened which made my eyes flick up to the title, and I thought "Ah. Well, I know how that's going to come out, now, don't I." At which point I rolled my eyes and skimmed for awhile.

Apart from that, it was an, I think, above average paranormal romance (PNR), though surprisingly undersexed if anything. That is not, I should add, a complaint. It has an interesting premise, and interesting worldbuilding – I actually love and am intrigued by the concept of the three worlds linking, intrigued enough that I may one day seek out the other book in the series (one for each sibling – this was #3). Each seems to be a take on a different fairy tale, this one being Red Riding Hood.

Lord of the Wolfyn - Jessica Andersen Okay this is a writer ive never read, so I was a little anxious when starting it, but I find that Andersen carried well in this series. Dayn was delicious and alpha, but the twists were nice. Reda made a very intriguing female heroine, I liked her conflict and background, cant wait for the finale book to wrap this all up

Lord of the Wolfyn - Jessica Andersen This had been a pretty slow series for me. I've enjoyed each book in the series but not one thing in each book stands out to me. In fact, I would rate this one about 2.5 to 3 stars. It was pretty steady through the whole book and not very interesting until almost the very end. Even then, it was a bit unexciting.

The next book by Nalini Singh seems like it will be quite interesting. I hope the last one in the series ends up better than the rest.

Lord of the Wolfyn - Jessica Andersen rating 3.5

My Thoughts: I'm torn with this book. As with the first book in the series I did not enjoy the mix of the "human world" and the realms. This did get better as the book went along and everything took place in the realms.
While I found Dayn more tolerable, I could not stand Reda through most of this book. She was very weak almost all the way through. For someone who grew up being told these fairytales from her mother, until she passed, she seemed quite ignorant and quick to believe anything someone said even if it was the people trying to kill her. I kind of lost any hope when we first see Dayn change into his Wolfyn, her paranoia and inability to believe she's human and capable of having her own feelings was too much.
Despite this I still am enjoying this series. We have three of the four siblings (possibly all four) at or around the castle with a battle ensuing. I'm looking forward to reading Lord of the Abyss to find out how it all comes together.

Lord of the Wolfyn
Lord of the Wolfyn - Jessica Andersen I really liked the characters in this book. Reda and Dyan must both come to terms with a lot outside of the fight for Elden. My only complaint is I want to know what happens to Elden. Guess I'll have to read book 4 to figure that out.
