I Wanna Dance With Somebody the Glee Version  --A high school version of a song, for a high school story…and this song feels like it's about finding someone new to "dance with" after a breakup.♫

My Thoughts

This is a super cute read for a preteen girl or any girl looking to get over being dumped by some boy.  Did I feel this was something that might occur or happen in real life, probably not…but the life lessons TBSG is trying to impart are present and for the most part, solid.

I read this mostly because of reading challenge I'm doing where I needed Character names, and it really scored on that front for me.  With both a I name for female with Isla Rush and U Name for Male with Emory Underwood.  Sometimes, reading challenges get me into some fairly awful books and this one wasn't one of those…it was an easy breezy read.

Will I read more from this Author?  I don't think so, unless it turns out to be just what I need for a reading challenge.

⇝My Thoughts⇜

I've tried to write how I feel about this book and nothing comes out right…I just can't.  I can't recommend this, I can't even explain why…It's just not plausible or conceivable.  I tried to like it, even just a little...It became so tedious, that I skimmed quite a bit, once I was about a 1/3 of the way in.

♪♫MY PICK FOR BOOK THEME SONG♫♪

Starving by Hailee Steinfeld & Grey ft. Zedd  --It's hard to find a song for a historical book…so I picked a modern one that has the right feel to how I picture Annabel to be, she is just so darn sweet.  She was going to be a nun after all, before she met and married Ross.♫

Will I continue this series?  Mayhap, not…I actually read this to fulfill a square in a reading challenge, Romance Bingo.

⇝My Thoughts⇜

It's been awhile since I read a historical romance of this type, this is what I use to read exclusively when I first started reading.  One day I was bored and picked up the book my mom had been reading, and proceeded to read it one day.  Then the next day I read it again.  I was hooked.

This particular book was sweet and funny…but I felt like something was missing still.  I didn't get caught up in the feelings like I should have.  I think Ross and Annabelle just needed more interaction between the two of them, that didn't include sex.  They also mentioned her heaving bosom one too many times, or 12 or 20 too many.

⇝My Thoughts⇜

I only read this because I needed a book with a metal in the title, for a reading challenge…Tin Lily fit that.  I probably wouldn’t have ever gave it a second glance, otherwise.  To me it feels like the author read how-to-write-a-story-101, complete with not-so-subtle symbolism (with all the tin/metal references).  For me, it just came off as too structured and not enough heart.  I didn’t really connect with the characters.  I only felt like I should feel sadness for them, instead of actually feeling it.

The ending is the only time I felt into this book, and saved it from a 2 star rating.  But, maybe, I was just happy I was almost finished.

⇝Sex Factor⇜

Not a factor.
