Elder Harcourt didn't watch her go, his gaze steadfast at the Rulers. Only a golden eagle in the sky saw the wicked smirk that curved his lips..
*sigh* I feel like I waited since book one for certain things to happen and when they finally did it was so rushed. It was like the last 20% was full of events that I expected from this book and waited for and I needed much more detail and explanation and kick-ass Kings and Queens in general.
"Well? Have I done the impossible? Rendered the two of you mute?" His mouth opened wide in mock sock when we stayed quiet. "Oh, I do believe I deserve a cookie. I've made the impossible, miraculously, possible. This is assuredly a monumental day. Perhaps hell has frozen over. Or, maybe," he glanced up at the blue sky, "pigs have taken flight." He clapped his hands once, smiling at us. "This would be the perfect occasion to use my new camera phone and take your picture together." His smile widened. "I'd tittle the photo: Up Shit Creek Without a Paddle."
Were there flaws? Suuure.. But I had fun reading this so I don't care :D

Cold Mark is book one in the Mark series by Scarlett Dawn.
I was looking for a sexy alien romance and what I got was one Hot Mess!! I’m not even sure what kept me engrossed and reading it until the end.
Our heroine Brita is 18, thrown into a barbaric world, with no real freedom, and her existence depends on the men of Triaz.
OMG I hate teenagers. The main reasons I dislike them and especially reading about them is that they make stupid decisions, don’t think, and have zero life experience. So, Brita had zero motivation for her actions and all of her actions where stupid.
Then we have a love triangle with two sets of two’s… Uhh, one set is her Soul and the other well I just didn’t know what they where, until the end. Are you confused? I am! To me I thought that Soul meant soul mates, but here it’s different, so I was confused and never truly grabbed the concept of what a Soul is. I was like whats the point, if she doesn’t end up with her Soul (mates).
The intimacy was clean, very little, not erotic, and no true menage.
Cold Mark was just one confusing hot mess. This book was not for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

Owner/Review and mind behind Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. However what I am not is a writer. I apologize now for the grammatical and punctuation errors I make, because I know I’m going to make them. I’m a mother, wife, dog owner, animal, and book lover. My favorite animals are horses. As for reading I love all things paranormal & urban fantasy. My favorite shifters are dragons!
Lana had drank a lot of whiskey and was standing on the dance floor all by herself as everyone else was unconscious. Except for a group in the VIP section and two bartenders and the DJ were also awake. After a bit the onlookers started toward Lana. Lana knew she should not have went to that bar it was new and Lana usually went to bars that weren’t new. Then the onlookers circled around Lana there was about fifty to one. Lana offered to leave Then a man from the group asked Lana what she was doing at the bar and she said dancing. He asked Lana if she was from outta town Lana said no but said if he let her go he would never see her again. The guy introduced himself as Renner and told Lana he wouldn’t hurt her and he owned the club. Renner asked Lana what faction she was from and she told Renner he was crazy and asked Renner what he was talking about. Renner called and asked for Callie to be contacted to come to the club. Renner told Lana if she wanted answers to stay as she felt something when they touched. Then three women entered the club and were talking to Renner. Callie then approached Lana and asked if Lana knew what she was, Callie asked Lana what her name was and what her deceased parents names were. Lana refused to answer . Lana did admit her parents weren’t like her as Lana could control lightning. Then Lana didn’t feel so alone and almost cried but Callie told her not to cry there in front of the demons and vampires. Lana knew she wasn’t human . But now she knew that she was a Valkyrie and there were a lot more than just her. Callie tutored Lana for three months on all she needed to know about herself. There was eight factions- four factions for men, four factions for women. When a Valon made a vow it was unbreakable.
I liked what there was of this story but it was just too short. This doesn’t end as a cliffhanger but you want more to the story. I felt the story was also became predictable as it went on . So as far as I am concerned it had the makings of a really good story if it had only went on.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
