Harry Potter i Przeklęte Dziecko
Harry Potter i Przeklete Dziecko. Czesc pierwsza i druga - J.K. Rowling,John Kerr Tiffany,Jack Thorne

Wszyscy uważają go za innego, w dodatku zamiast do Gryffindoru Tiara przydziela go do Slytherinu.

Review: Captivating Commander (Cocky Hero Club) by: Tiffany Carby
Captivating Commander (Cocky Hero Club) - Tiffany Carby

Captivating Commander by Tiffany Carby

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is so much more to Dawson. At first glance he comes across blase, but after tragedy threatens his world, his true depth is exposed. Captivating Commander is a journey of self examination. Carby takes a person that thrives on being an enigma and exposes the heartache within. Life gives this playboy a wake-up call. Out of tragedy comes a courageous story of love, hope and redemption. Dawson and Vixie stick to the heart by inspiring the soul.

Grown
Grown - Tiffany D. Jackson

“Content warning: mentions of sexual abuse, rape, assault, child abuse, kidnapping, and addiction to opioids.” Yes, to all of this but yet, there is no warning about not being able to eat, drink, or think of anything else besides this book once you step inside its pages. Then, there’s that book hangover, once you’re finished and you’re left staring at the back of the book breathing, reliving those incredible scenes that were more than just words on a page, where was this warning, as my mind tries to unwind.

Korey, was everything she ever wanted. He was perfect, at least that side of him was. When Enchanted finally sees all sides of Korey, it’s too late. This was a fantastic page-turner of a book, a book in which I felt a deep connection to the characters and the story couldn’t have been more honest and real unless I knew these individuals personally.

The book opens with a brutal murder and then, the book flashes back to when the characters first met each other and their story unfolds. Enchanted was trying to fulfill her dream, a dream filled with music when she is spotted by Korey. Korey, the famous R&B artist has taken an interest in Enchanted and tells her everything that she wanted to hear. As he works his charm, she is swept away. Korey knows exactly what he’s doing, as he wins Enchanted over but Enchanted is an innocent, 17-year-old, victim who just wanted a music career. And Korey, he’s a manipulator, a controller, an abuser(mentally), and a serial pedophile, who just got his next victim.

This was a hard book to read as Enchanted voice got harder to hear. Korey began placing restrictions on her which confused her yet Korey made them seem like a positive part of their relationship. More constraints and limitations began to weigh Enchanted down. She was losing control as she began acting like a puppet, doing what she was told, losing her self-confidence as she feels she has no other option. Such a powerful book, a book that had important messages and I appreciate the author addressing these issues openly and directly. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy stories addressing these issues. Amazing story!

Breakfast at Tiffany's
Breakfast at Tiffany's - Truman Capote I remembered enjoying the movie, but I hated this book. It was hard to get into, even with C. Michael Hall's narration. I didn't like the story or the characters as they were not likeable--particularly Holly. And don't get me started on the poor cat, who had no name and deserved better. I figured I would adore the book since I liked the movie; however, I am now beginning to rethink my enjoyment of the film.

Reading progress update: I've read 15%.
The Oddfits (The Oddfits Series Book 1) - Tiffany Tsao

Why was I so surprised by how odd this book is? It's right there in the title: 'Oddfits'. It's about people who don't fit in, who are so obviously and fundamentally out of tune with where they are that it's clear that, although they're here, they belong somewhere else.

Yet I didn't expect a Roal Dahl meets Kafka reading experience that made me feel so off-balance. That I, the reader, was the oddfit who can't quite grasp what is expected of me or what I should expect of the author. I'm not sure what's going on or what is likely to happen next. It feels like being thrown around on a fairground ride. The only option is to give up control and go with the ride. Which is part of why I hate fairground rides.

If I'm going to read this book to the end, I'll need to find a place to stand and quite soon.
