good creepy read.
Tortured Souls: The House On Wellfleet Bluffs - Linda Cadose,J. A. Gerber,M. M. Hudson
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Lynne and Jason buy a house, right unseen but fall in love with it immediately. Almost as immediately, they discover the house has things that go bump in the night and Lynne and Jason are left researching what a dark and deadly history the house has.

I thought, when first writing my review this was a brand new author but it appears this is a collaboration of three different authors.

I rather enjoyed this! It kinda creeps along, dropping hints and clues at you that stop and make you think. Makes you think what's really going on, and what the house's true history is.

I liked the little twists to the story in regards to Lynne and her ancestors. And I liked that the full story about the previous residents is not fully disclosed til near the end.

It's creepy, but not what I would call full blown horror.

We hear mostly from Lynne and Jason but also from a few key characters along the way. Hearing from one more would have made this book for me, but you know me, if you follow my reviews, I'm greedy and always want more !

Still, the three stars I'm giving this is not a negative number. I did enjoy it and it did keep my interest up. It just needs a little tidying up.

Solid start from this author and could be one to watch.

3 stars

“She wouldn’t leave me alone. Kept saying she needed me to tell some guy named Richie that the treasure is buried under the spider oak. It made no sense and she wouldn’t let me sleep, so I finally convinced her to move on to the next plane.”
Tortured Souls - Kimber Leigh Wheaton

Received free copy for honest review.

This was a really good story. At the heart is a mystery and in search of answers you learn a lot about Kacie and her life but not enough to loose interest. She is a strong character with lots of potential. I loved most of the characters and enjoyed the pace. It was nice that the story flowed like life and didn't focus 100 percent around solving the mystery! While at the same time it was always in the background. Very well written. There is great potential in the series and I'm looking forward to reading more of the adventures to be had by the Orion Circle.

Tortured Souls by Kimber Leigh Wheaton
Tortured Souls (The Orion Circle Book 1) - Kimber Leigh Wheaton
Sometimes Rest in Peace isn't an option

Kacie Ramsey sees ghosts—and it's ruining her life. Her mother left, her father blames her, and no matter how hard she tries, she can't keep the ghosts away. Now a new power has emerged. Nightly visions of grisly murders and a relentless predator draw her to the brink of insanity.

When the phantom appears at a party, Kacie's longtime crush, Logan, saves her. He invites her to join the Orion Circle, a group of supernatural hunters with chapters in schools all over the country. Through the Circle, Kacie learns to embrace her spiritual powers, and for the first time in her life she feels in control rather than a victim.

But the Foxblood Demon will not give up so easily. A demented serial killer in life who trapped the souls of the thirteen children he murdered, imprisoning them within the walls of his mansion. Now in death, he plots his return while drawing power from the pure souls of the children. He recognizes something in Kacie he's never seen before—a medium powerful enough to provide a vessel for his tainted soul.

Kacie can't ignore the tortured souls of the children crying out to her every night. With Logan at her side, she will fight the Foxblood Demon. But can they banish this powerful phantom, or will Kacie lose not only her body, but her eternal soul to the monster.

The Slayer - Kele Moon

Chuito and Alaine's journey has some really dark moments that I felt to my core. Through it all love does prevail and my heart was put back together again. I won’t soon forget this captivating friends-to-lovers story. I'll be waiting with bated breath for Tino's book next.

Alluring Ink - Ranae Rose

I’ve really enjoyed the Inked In The Steel City series and getting to know all the characters of the Hot Ink tattoo shop. The stories and characters are realistically drawn and their conflicts are written with emotional depth. Read more.
