Why You Won’t Find Silicone Makeup Sponges in a Professional Makeup Artist’s Kit

So, you agree with the professional beauty makeup artists that Silisponge has not picked up the way we expected since its launch in 2016.

Now, it's about to three years, but the magic of silicone sponge has yet to begin, in spite of the blazing pomp and show that took place at its launch. And on the top, the Beauty artists rather apprehend that whether the magic will ever begin or some other innovation will replace it.

So is the scene and so are the takeaways from the market which are finding it difficult to appreciate these Silisponges, though in the last three years they have spawned into numerous shapes, sizes, thickness, colors and brands to lure the makeup artists and the consumers both. Let's take a clear look in the beauty and makeup market about these silicon sponges, that why they are struggling hard to make an impact on this billion-dollar industry.

Why is Silicon Makeup Sponges shying professional's makeup kit?

They are non-porous.

The Silicone makeup sponges are non-porous, and therefore neither support blending nor absorb the other products from the skin. The other beauty blenders and makeup brushes are porous and therefore recommend blending and absorbs extra product left after the application of the foundation etc.

Even our fingers are porous and help in blending the foundation over the skin along with facilitating removing extra leftovers. Like while dispensing the extra foundation from the face one requires a porous material to absorb and remove it, otherwise it will become bloated. The beauty blenders are made to suck up the new foundation from the skin, and they instead absorb it even before the foundation is spread over the face. Silicon sponges are non-porous surfaces and lack in both the areas of sucking and removing.

They lack in blending

For blending purposes, a porous material is required, which can absorb the material and can mix it with the skin properly. It shall help in filling the pores on the skin as well as in lifting the extra material applied over the surface. While we are applying the foundation over the face, it never gets applied in the exact quantity in the first go. Many times we need the extra applications in certain areas where we want to fill or hide something, it could be a pimple or a pore. If the sponge fails in both the applications, then it can't be used for the spreading alone, as the spreading cannot serve the proper functionality. The silicon sponges slide the material over the skin and sweep it all over rather than making it enter the skin and blend properly to provide a natural-looking finish. For a seamless makeup application, it is a must.

They can't absorb water

The Silicon makeup sponges can't absorb water, and therefore artists don't use for even the basic applications from clearing to cleaning. As either you are going for cleaning or making the surface you need to absorb the water and only then the makeup can be applied or removed. Sponges only with water absorption only can be used in significant makeup applications.

Do Silicone Makeup Sponges have some advantages?

The Silicone Makeup Sponges are non-porous and don't absorb the products. It provides them a superb advantage over other Makeup Sponges, which are porous and absorbs expensive products such as foundations, creams, etc. These Silicone sponges don't consume anything and provide a perfect finish and application during makeup at a very economical price. They don't have same buffing ability as per other porous sponges have, and thus leads to flawless makeup.

Conclusion – Thus, the Silicone Makeup Sponges are worthless for professional makeup artist's kit. They couldn't be used even for the basic applications leave aside the professional use of these sponges by the prominent artists.

I couldn’t believe I was actually going through with the whole thing either. That had to count for something.

She was about to remark, perhaps because it was true or perhaps because his hand was making her nervous, that Chris Cornell sang an awful lot about the sun . . .

Ellie is really making herself unlikable. Why is she going to rob him? Going straight lasted all of five minutes. Which is one issue, the other is why she would do this to someone who meant something to her, someone she had already hurt in the past. I hope she works on becoming more likeable, and not just because she's attracted to him. I also hope the story picks up. I'm kind of bored at this point. — Page 82 (19%)

Already she’d earned the nicknames “Sir-Limps-A-Lot” (which didn’t make much sense considering her gender), “The Gimp,” and “Crippled Cow.” The cow part, of course, was for the fact that she’d gained a bit of weight since the accident. Something that was somewhat inevitable when you combined the burgeoning hormones of a thirteen-year-old and her limited ability.
. . .
“Oh you know, Vicky Besset told everyone in history class that I walk funny because I used to weigh three hundred pounds and broke my ankles. Now I hear ‘Crippled Cow’ everywhere I go.” The girl said all this as breezily as possible, trying hard to hide the shame and embarrassment that was ripping her apart.

^^^BULLYING.

"This book fucking sucks and the writing is terrible."  <<< Not bullying.

It's really not that difficult to understand, I promise.

As for this book, I'm still waiting to get into it. The first person is tedious and you know how I hate POV changes (this between first and third limited to Ellie, so far). Hopefully it'll get interesting soon. — 11%
