2016 is at an end and frankly I'm surprised how I finished the year.  Instead of just reading 54 or 55 books for the year, I finished with 58!  Personally I believe I completed 7 books this month to actually break my personal best total for books read.  My total for pages is officially 27606, which if you remember my November update I had already passed by old record.

As for 2017, well given the last year here on BookLikes I'll be doing more stuff on my Wordpress page than here.  If BookLikes makes a comeback then I might show up here more.  Anyways, have a Happy New Year...

2016 Reading Challenge- End of November Update
Who Travels With the Doctor?: Essays on the Companions of Doctor Who - Gillian I. Leitch,Sherry Ginn

Well unexpectedly November was my most productive month as I completed 8 books!  My total for the year is 51 books, which is currently my third most I've read in year with 31 days still to go.  My overall total of 24658 pages is my highest total all-time over last year's 24655 pages.

Overall I'll be able to read 4 books from my original 40 that I started the year with, but given that 5 of the books I didn't plan on reading were free via LibraryThing I'm okay with that.  My plan for December is finishing the three books I'm currently in the process of reading.  I might squeeze in an unscheduled REREAD after I finished Decline and Fall, Vol. 1 if I have time by the end of the year.  Right now I'm looking at a total of 54 books, maybe 55, which would be my second highest total for a year (57 last year).

2016 Reading Challenge- End of October Update
The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ - Joseph Smith Jr.
The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas, Robin Buss
The Truth (Discworld, #25) - Terry Pratchett
Warriors 1 -

On October 6, I completed my 40th book of the year thus achieving my reading goal for the year.  However unlike last year, I really didn't feel like celebrating as my achievement book was The Book of Mormon which lets just say wasn't something I wanted to remember fondly.  However I was surprised I even finished four books in October since I thought The Count of Monte Cristo was going to take me nearly the entire month, however I finished it on the 19th and then read three, admittedly short at between 300-400 pages, books over the course of the last eleven days.

My basic plan for the rest of the year is to get through as much of my original 2016 list as possible, finished Waiting to Die Longing to Love since I'm reading it for a neighbor (his brother is the author), and write some articles for my WordPress blog that I'll post here as well.

October is probably going to be pretty silent from me on reviews, The Book of Mormon not withstanding, because my next book is The Count of Monte Cristo which is 1256 pages.  So I might be doing some miscellaneous posts that I have been wanting to write for my WordPress blog and sharing them here as well.

2016 Reading Challenge- End of August Update
A Feast for Crows - George R.R. Martin
A Dance with Dragons: A Song of Ice and Fire: Book Five - George R.R. Martin

My simultaneous re-read of A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons took longer than I expected, mostly because my reading plan during my vacation got blasted thanks to the state of Tennessee sending my tag and drivers license renewal letters one day apart meaning I received them a day apart which going to the same location two consecutive mornings.  Oh well, I eventually got time to read after making up time I wanted to write my practice novel which still didn't get as far as I wanted.

However I've started my next book The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and am already 55% through after two days of reading.  By the end of September I'll have Patriarchs and Prophets finished as well so I should be close to finishing my challenge of 40 books but not close to the 40 I have listed below.  Oh well...
