Auguste Groner

So inbetween obsessing too much over TV-shows* in the last weeks I also spent my time writing about Auguste Groner for Bibliodaze. She was an Austrian writer who created Joseph Müller the first German-language series detective. She was also all-round awesome (and once bought a castle in Styria).
Read everything here.

*that would be first The Musketeers and then Endeavour and I'm stilly crying over the latter.

The Case of the Registered Letter (Classic Pages)
The Case Of The Registered Letter - Auguste Groner I have a feeling I fell asleep while listening to this because I don't really remember the conclusion. Not that it was terribly gripping to begin with.

The Case of the Golden Bullet - Auguste Groner,Grace Isabel Colbron The real mystery here is why I can't find them anywhere in the original German, only English translations...A typical late 19th century detective story, good puzzle and Muller is quite an interesting character (though I wish the other characters had spent less time talking about how awesome he is) but somehow the story didn't quite grab me. Though I will give another from this series a try somewhen.
