Lonely Planet Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks (Travel Guide) - Lonely Planet,Greg Benchwick,Carolyn McCarthy,Christopher Pitts

Finally having a bit of down time after some exhausting days hiking. Haven't seen any TV and not even had time to do any reading, but the amazing scenery and wildlife I've seen, kind of makes up for it.

Zion National Park

Bryce Canyon

Tomorrow we're heading for Capitol Reef, and after that it's Arches and Canyonland before we head to Salt Lake City and then home.

The 10 Best of Everything National Parks: 800 Top Picks From Parks Coast to Coast - National Geographic Society,Fran Mainella It's a pretty book and there's nothing wrong with the lists and variety, but it's pretty useless for actual travel. There's no list or index by state. Some of the titles and descriptions don't explain clearly where they are. They're not even all National Parks so a separate list of parks won't help in some cases. Some are National Monuments or National Historical Sites or National Battlefields. There is an index, but it doesn't include states.

The National Parks: Our American Landscape - Ian Shive,Tom Kiernan LOVE THIS!!! A big, beautiful, amazing picture book with just a little bit of interesting text here and there about some of the photos. It's not just scenery. Ian Shive strives for great variety in subject matter within our national treasure lands. Great close-ups of animal and plant life and geologic features. Some really unique angles and perspectives make these photographs memorable, along with the more traditional views of our national parks, monuments, and recreation areas.
