"The Bookworm", by Mitch Silver
The Bookworm: A Novel - Mitch Silver

This story is a bit of everything, a mystery at its base, a tad of political shenanigan to captivate us, some known historical figures to pique our interest (Kennedy, Hitler, Churchill and the French physician Nostradamus) oh…to put a smile on our faces, thinly disguised are our 2 maverick and colourful leaders in a cameo role. To top it all off which is the base of this novel is a conspiracy to keeps us on our toes. With a soupçon of reality and a big dose of fiction we have one ambitious novel that should please most readers.

The setting mainly plays out in Moscow but changes locations between London and Alaska. The mystery features Larissa Klimt, who is a professor of Geopolitical History and her twin brother Lev, who works in Alaska monitoring the oil fields. The plot comes to life when Lara (Larissa) is asked to translate six audio recordings done in the 1940’s from English to Russian and find the book, subject of the recordings. What she hears is just the beginning of her troubles…the book (Bible) contains a false prophecy of all time. Through a series of circumstances Lara and Lev become entwined in the hoax and are pulled into danger and the world of espionage…..

I have mixed feeling about this book. In great parts I liked it a lot and in others I found it dragged so much I was losing interest. It took too much time to get going although I do admit lots was happening but everything seemed to turn in circle then suddenly action and suspense kicked in and voilà you just reached the end. As for the characters they missed colours but were OK in their roles but lacked the credibility and motive to push the mystery forward and make it captivating. I liked the premise, the story is great and interesting and some of the side bars are also very good “ the Bookworm mystery”, “Conception Day”, “King takes Queen”, Lara’s events with her ex-husband the Russian spy just to mention some…..(I let you discover all this).

This novel may not have been my favourite of all times but it was worthwhile passing time reading it nevertheless.

I received this ARC for review from Pegasus Books via Netgalleys

The Hate U Give Review
The Hate U Give - Angie Thomas

Image result for amazing word

This book was AMAZING!!!

From the beginning I was hooked on this book and was controversial and it was amazing to read about something that people haven't really approched Angie Thomas done this amazingly.

For a white reader it helped me realise that life for Black Americans is really hard and it was heartbreaking to read that life is still like that for them and has made me want to read more about black history and books that include this culture.

The hype behind this book was totally worth it I loved every page of this book and recommend this to anyone that want to read about the culture of black people.

I don't think I will be able to write any review that will be able to give this book any justice.

Starr Carter was an amazing character and she was so strong and she showed that no matter what happened her voice mattered and she also showed what it is like to be in the black culture and how they are treated differently so I will say that the book does have some trigger warning because of the racial aspect of the book that is rather often.

JUST GO PICK UP THE BOOK NOW !!!!!!

Crazy is my Superpower Review
Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed ... Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules - A.J. Mendez Brooks

Crazy is My Superpower

AJ Mendez Brooks

Wow this Autobiography was amazing I could not put it down and binge read the entire thing is two days which for me in this moment of time is amazing for me. She wrote it in so much detail and truth that there was no question unanswered for me I recommend this to anyone that is a fan of AJ Lee inside or outside of the ring.

April is an amazing and an inspiration to read and reading her story and her journey of how she got into the ring which wasn't an easy road at all for anyone to endure this and still be strong and positive like she was is amazing and also her story while she was in the ring like a lot of wrestling autobiography that I have read she did not have it easy in her life before she got to an age to think about going into the ring.

April was such an inspiration because she openly spoke about Bipolar and the effects it can have on a family and the effect it can have on someone if it is mis treated she has inspired me to want to work toward a profession in mental health because I want to be able to help people that doctors can't because they can't see the problem and it isn't physical.

she was also very open with her opinions on her job and the people that she worked with and that her plan was to change how women where seen in the wrestling industry and I would like to think that she done an amazing job at accomplishing that because she wasn't the usual skinny blonde that liked to wear tight dresses she was different in a brilliant way that changed the way women where looked at in a  male dominated industry.

A Court Of Thorns And Roses
A Court of Thorns and Roses - Sarah J. Maas

Image result for i loved it

So I have had this book for a while and i never read it simply because of all the hype that was behind the book series and I didn't want to read it and not enjoy it because I felt I had to like it because everyone else did.

I am so glad i did decide to read this book because it honestly deserves all the hype that it is getting. The chapters where so good that you always wanted to read more even the more detailed violent chapters where amazing.

Now I don't normally like the main characters in books or movies or anything for that matter but oh my goodness Feyre was a total bad ass and i loved her she was so strong and inspiring because she had to learn really quick how to be an adult by looking after and providing for her family, also while learning about her you learn that she can't read and it was nice to see her overcome the hurdles that it brought up.

Sarah J Maas built the characters perfectly the romance was strong and i would even say new adult which was amazing I love beaty and the beast and I think this was an amazing adaptation of the story with fantasy.

I recommend this to anyone that has been on edge to read it, read the book you won't be disappointed if you love fantasy and beauty and the beast.

Under the weather

Image result for under the weather

So this picture describes me very good right now.

My laryngitis has now also lead to me having tonsillitis which I am now in so much pain with that i can't breathe properly or talk very long without having a coughing fit so it means that I am off work still hopefully it will get better and I can go back to work sooner rather than later.

Right now though in the part of the UK I live in its been raining all day and its now carried on to the night so I am going to sit tucked up in bed and read as much as i can of A Court of Thorns and Roses which I doubt will be much because my concentration is very limited I just want to sleep this infection away.

How has everyone been so far this week?? I hope it stays positive and if something is wrong it can only get better.

Speak to you all soon.
