Big Bad Boss (Marriage of Convenience Ro... Big Bad Boss (Marriage of Convenience Romance) - Amy Faye

Big Bad Boss by is my first book by Amy Faye.  Ms Faye has given us a well-written book.  The characters grow on you through the story.  This is an alternating pov book, not my favorite, I'm a 3rd person fan.  Ms Faye has provided plenty of drama, humor and sizzle.  Forget the sizzle...it's really flames.  Cait and Jasper's story is entertaining.  I enjoyed Big Bad Boss and would happily read more from Ms Faye in the future.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read a free copy of this book that I received from InstaFreebie.

Very Brief Thoughts: One Night with her Boss
One Night with her Boss - Noelle Adams

One Night with her Boss
by Noelle Adams
Book 4 of One Night novellas

Anne has worked for her sexy, ex-surfer, businessman boss for seven years, and she’s been in love with him for two.  Jake doesn’t think about her as anything but his ever-efficient assistant, though.  She’s been trying to get over her feelings by dating other men and interviewing for other jobs—which doesn’t make Jake very happy.  But Anne is determined not to put her life on hold for him.

When she gets a new job offer, Jake will do anything he can to keep her, but he still only seems to want her as an employee.  Anne might find him irresistible, but she’s learned to resist.  There are lines that he’ll just never cross.

But then everything changes in only one night...

Extremely underwhelming read, even for a short novella with a simple contemporary romance.  The romance itself wasn't bad, and Anne's attempts to move forward with her life, and her determination not to put her life on hold for a crush is commendable.  The ending angst seemed a bit juvenile and unnecessary, and kind of rushed; but at least it wasn't drawn out.  Characters were okay and good, had potential, and maybe would have benefited from a longer story with more development.

Not much else to say about it.  I never reviewed the first three One Night novellas--enjoyed the first two, found the third lacking.

This was even tinier than bite-sized, and easily finished within the hour if you have nothing else to do in the meantime--something to pick up if you're between books and not sure what you want to read next.

I will probably stop reading this series with this last novella, though.

Hot & Bothered
Irresistible You (The Chicago Rebels Series Book 1) - Kate Meader

The Chicago Rebels series continues with the story about Remy and Harper.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and for full understanding of the series, I recommend reading this hot series in order.

Harper has had many emotional blows in a row.  Trying to be a good team owner, she makes the decisions based solely on what the team needs.  Always sacrificing her own needs to keep the team solid.

Remy had thought he would finish his career on a winning team.  Never thinking he would be traded at the eleventh hour.  Also not sure what to do about his feelings for his new boss.  They do not even get along most of the time.

Such a great addition to the series!  A very slow burn, and you know how I love those.  So many surprises in this story to enhance the read.  Hockey is always scrumptious to read about, and with a very hot couple who cannot stop touching each other - HOT!  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

In serious need of a major rewrite!
The Last Chicago Boss: My Life with the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club - Kerrie Droban,Peter 'Big Pete' James

I was looking forward to reading this book. My career required me to be aware of and fluent in different criminal gangs. I always found motorcycle gangs to be of the most interesting variety. Thus, a chance to get insight into the "Outlaws" appealed to me very much.
Unfortunately, this isn't the book for that. The writing is terrible. Hard to follow, disjointed, it reads like someone with ADD wrote it. The author will start one story, morph it into another unrelated story, or worse yet, just drop it midway through.
The book is seriously in need of a major rewrite. Disappointing!

Craving My Boss by M.S. Parker & Tasha Fawkes
Craving My Boss - Tasha Fawkes,M. S. Parker

An aspiring writer gets in touch with her naughty side. Of course Craving my Boss is sexy. It's meant to be. However, Ms. Fawkes and Ms. Parker go beyond the illicit and tell a tale that is honest and courageous. In the process of finding herself, Ashley manages to lose her heart and at times her dignity to hear alpha boss, Daniel. People do crazy things for love and this story shows how the power of lust can turn into love.
