Book Review For: Rescued by the Wolf Sasha Summers
Rescued by the Wolf (Blood Moon Brotherhood) (Volume 2) - Sasha Summers

'Rescued by the Wolf' by Sasha Summers is Book Two in the "Blood Moon Brotherhood"Series. This is the story of Mal and Olivia. I have read the previous book and think it would help you enjoy this one better if you do read it first. With that said, I do feel you can make this a standalone book if you choose to do so.
Mal is a hard feeling wolf who doesn't have soft spots but when he is taken and thrown in a cage he plans his escape. While planning on getting out Olivia is thrown into a cage near him. Olivia is hurt and upset that they are also after her brother. Mal tries to not get involved with her but his 'wolf' wont let him. Mal's 'wolf' wants to protect her so when he escapes he has to take her with him.
Olivia is human, but Mal is finding out she has a strong personality.
This was an exciting story that I couldn't put down!
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Great Story and Characters
Wolf Slayer - Jane Godman

Most days there was no conflict between being an arctic werewolf and a cop for Kyle. . For eighteen months Kyle Madden had been hunting the serial killer called the Cage Killer who delighted in taunting the cops. Kyle was a detective. Kyle got a call that he believed was the killer and little “ gifts” had come to the station from the killer like human fingers. The cops were heading to Piedmont House were the Kyle hoped to find the serial killer and the victim before the victim was dead. Kyle thought he could smell the killer but he couldn’t tell his team as they were all human and they didn’t know what he was. They were all apart of the Anchorage Police Department in Alaska. The Cage Killer liked privacy and enclosed places. Every other victim/victims had been found underground. She knew he kept her alive to torture her. She was barely alive but she read the papers and watched tv about previous victims. The Cage killer had her. She heard he cut fingers off and sent them to the police . Her name was Marie. The killer didn’t care about gender, ego, or station in life the only thing in common was their striking looks: white blonde hair and brilliant gold eyes which was the coloring of the true arctic wolf. There had been twelve victims so far. Maria hadn’t been reported missing but she explained she had no family and very few friends. Her occupation had been an artist. But she was now missing some fingers. The killer cut off one finger a day and on the tenth day he killed his victim. When Kyle was a cub his parents had been killed by hunters and the alpha of his wolf pack had cast Kyle out to die but a kindly hunter took Kyle in and raised him. When Kyle was fully grown  the hunter set Kyle free in the wild. Kyle’s way of giving back to humans was to be a cop. Kyle believed Maria was an Arctic Wolf and he asked her if she had ever shifted while she was in the hospital. Maria thought Kyle was crazy. But when a man came in her hospital window and threatened to kill Maria with the knife he had she felt something inside her change. Someone was coming and the man went back out the window. Kyle thought the was specifically looking for an Arctic werewolf. When Kyle got back to Maria’s room he apologized and then Maria told him she might have been changing when the killer threaten to kill her . Kyle set it all up that when Maria got out of the hospital that she would go to Dan’s home and Samson would also be there until the killer was caught. Dan and Samson as well as Kyle belonged to the Brotherhood Of The Midnight Sun.

This was an excellent story. I really loved this , the plot was good as was the pace. I loved the action and the mystery. I felt bad of who the killer was. But I had it figured out before the end but that was fine it wasn’t he was brought forward. I love Marie and Kyle together each was there when the other needed them. I loved the closeness of the brotherhood. I loved how everyone accepted and wanted to help Maria. Just another absolutely great book in the series. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

Great Story and Characters
Shadow Wolf - Jane Godman

Hebdrik’s daughter Valetta was missing. Hendrik’s friend Samson was there to help Hendrik find Valetta. Hendrik had retired from the Brotherhood of the Midnight Son but Samson still belonged to the Brotherhood and was Hendrik’s best friend. Samson nor Hendrik had ever heard of the Shadow Wolf. A Shadow Born wolf is a rare spirit form that  can form a bond with another species of wolf copying everything about them until it becomes a mirror image of the host. The Shadow wolf’s purpose is to breed with the host werewolf. Once it succeeds the problems will arise. The cubs of the Shadow wolf known as the Shadow Born have the power to destroy the host species. The wolves of the  Guardians Of Hati believe hendrik is harboring A Shadow Born werewolf. Valetta told Samson it was true as she was the Shadow Born werewolf. Her mother had left Valetta a letter to open whens he was twenty one. So Valetta had been dealing with that knowledge by herself for two years as her mother had asked Valetta not to tell her father Theresa - Valetta’s mother- had been a  Shadow wolf Samson had a mate -Anna- who had been killed while he was out hunting and Samson held that guilt to himself. Samson’s feelings had shut down until five years ago when Valetta had kissed him. Every since she had shifted the first time Valetta had sensed something deep inside herself . Valetta had not allowed herself to shift in two years since she had read the letter. When Hendrik had went out two weeks ago for a couple hours his daughter was home but when he came back she was gone but her car was still there and her purse and phone were still in the kitchen. In the two weeks Valetta had been missing there was no word from her or from whoever had taken her. Hendrik was a well known and respected figure in Alaskan politics and he was also an Arctic werewolf.A vicious motorcycle gang seems to be targeting Hendrik. Samson asks if Hendrik if he thinks this Shadow Born stuff was coming from the motorcycle gang targeting him. Hendrik said the timing was right. The gang turned up about the same time the campaign against Hendrik started. Also the members of the gang look like Arctic werewolves. Samson had been looking for Valetta for days and had met about every motorcycle gang leader in a fifty mile radius. The last gang had a girl with them and her name was Cindy who had been kidnapped two years ago. Cindy told Samson  a gang came into their territory and they had a girl named Valetta with them and she had been angry when Cindy had seen her. The gang's name had been The Guardians Of Hati- who was the wolf God of the Arctic wolves. Then  Samson finally met up with The Guardians Of Hati and the leader was Valetta. Valetta had fallen in love with Samson when she was a teen and at eighteen had offered herself to Samson but Samson had gently but firmly turned her down. After that Samson had stayed away from Hendrik for five years.because he had really wanted Valetta and felt it wasn’t right.  But he had come very close to accepting her. Valetta had taken over the gang with no problem but she knew eventually she would come up against the real person behind all the hate against her dad. Samson offered to stay so he could help.

I loved this story it was a good read and kept my interest all the way through. I liked how things just fell together or so it seemed. I enjoyed how Samson was so attracted to Valette but it was his best friend’s daughter so he was tore but Valetta had never stopped loving Samson.  If I were Hendrik I would want someone as good and brave and strong to be with my daughter. I liked the action in this story and I love how the Arctic wolves are different even those that could shift when they wanted they still maintained the way of the Arctic wolf and the love and draw of the Midnight Sun. All and all a great story. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and i highly recommend.

Great Story and Characters
Ice Wolf - Jane Godman

Arctic werewolves could only shift or be killed  during the light of the midnight son. The midnight son called to the arctic werewolves like the moon called to other werewolves. Gunner was the alpha of the arctic werewolves and Santin of the Siberian werewolves was the alpha and enemy of the Arctic wolves. Santin went after Gunner with a silver knife but Elliott jumped on his back and Gunner’s hand was the only thing affected. Elliott Wilder was a professor at the University of Alaska. Elliott knew his colleagues regarded him as an oddity. The fact is Elliott was a loner, eccentric person. Gunner sat in Elliott office. Elliott taught Arctic anthropology. Gunner had been Elliott’s mentor and Gunner told Elliott Santin was back and has threatened Elliott personally. Gunner said Santin will come after anyone Elliott cares for. Elliott said he had no family or friends so there was no one for Santin to hurt him with. Elliott felt guilty for turning Gunner down but he already had PTSD. He’d only know this the last fifty years. For three hundred and fifty years Elliott thought he was losing his mind. Seven- only seven Arctic werewolves- the bravest and the strongest alphas made up The Brotherhood. As Elliott was set to leave he heard his name being called, the woman was an Arctic werewolf and she was Jenny Piper- Professor J E Piper and she wanted to discuss a collaboration between their two departments. But she was three hours late. Then Elliott found he had a flat and Jenny offered to call a friend who would fix it and have it back to Elliott in the morning and she would give him a ride home tonight. Jenny gave Elliott the outline of her proposal they could share resources and expertise. But that would mean they share one afternoon a week for the next semester. Elliott already knew there was no way he was going to do a collaboration  with Jenny. Jenny was determined about the collaboration and Professor Wilder was hot and she would get him to agree.jenny wondered what had happened to Professor Wilder as Arctic wolves were sociable not solitary. Jenny wasn’t alone by choice, she had barely made it to her teens before her family had been murdered by hunters. Gunner showed up at Jenny’s home. Before Elliott even got to his apartment Santin was there and barefoot meaning he was ready to shift. But Elliott could only shift with the midnight sun. There was a unique bond between Arctic werewolves. Elliott had almost forgotten what physical attraction felt like but he was definitely attracted to Jenny. His inner wolf was setting the pace and that seared Elliott. Then Gunner told jenny they would be going to meet with the   Brotherhood. Jenny was never meant to be alone she craved the security and organization of a wolf pack. That is why she hadn’t hesitated when Gunner suggested she join the elite Brotherhood. It offered everything jenny had been missing: fellowship, belonging, loyalty, and a common purpose. It also appealed to Jenny’s warrior spirit. Three werewolves showed up at jenny’s , gunner and Jenny slowed them down long enough to leave. Then Elliott and Jenny were heading to Jotunheim. When at their hotel before meeting the Brotherhood the next day jenny wanted to go out and play in the snow. Finally Elliott joined her and then his control broke and he kissed Jenny as though he was branding her. He took Jenny back to the hotel room Elliott had tried to fight having sex with Jenny but he gave in. Besides Jenny pointed out that if they had sex as humans she wouldn’t get pregnant and they would not be mated for life. Jenny became Elliott’s obsession. Elliott no longer wanted to be part of the Brotherhood as the nightmares  are already had were enough. Once Santin was dead he was walking away for good. Elliott and Jenny met up with the the other five members of the Brotherhood and went out to the compound. Santin had already been there and destroyed the generator and radio now Gunner could not contact them. Elliott knew better than to want forever he could barely take care of himself with his nightmares and all that his spirit was damaged for anything other than isolation and mediocrity. Elliott blamed himself for Gunner losing his hand but Gunner told him anyone would have paused for a minute and he got to Santin real fast even though Elliott knew he had a silver knife. Elliott found some of that guilt lift from his shoulders. Now to kill Santin.

This was an excellent story I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The plot was great. I loved that Gunner took some of the guilt from Elliot’s shoulders. There is plenty of action and intrigue in this story. I liked there was a Goddess that was the mother of all werewolves also. Jenny and Elliott were a beautiful couple I thought. I hated it when Jenny got hurt and almost died and the pain Elliott felt. All and all a great story. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

Jamie’s Indie/Foreign movie of the week.

Hello everyone. I’ve decided I’d like to share some of my favorite movies with the world. Most of the movies that I enjoy are either independent or foreign films and today’s movie is Brotherhood of the Wolf which is my top pick for movie of the freaking week/month/year/hell decade.

Here’s a link to the movie at IMb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0237534/

If I could only pick one movie to own then this would be it and there’s few movies that are as fun to watch with someone for the first time with the exception of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071853) which is just too comical when you get their reaction after the ending. Usually it’s wtf? What was the point? Hehehe. Yeah I know those links are ugly like that but I’m paying proper respects to a site that encourages people to link to them. No permission needed so thanks IMb.

The trailer doesn’t do this one justice and there’s a big reason why it became an instant classic and according to wiki it was the second highest-grossing French-Language film in the United States since 1980.

This film is unusual for a historical film with the martial arts and action scenes in it. This movie freaking has it all: an excellent storyline, great acting, suspense, drama, a bit of a romance, some horror elements, political intrigue and action that would be way over the top in any other film but is fantastic in this move. The fight scenes are beautifully choreographed and just rock! If you haven’t seen this one yet then go find. I I don’t care if you have to rent it, buy it, stream it, whatever just watch this movie. This is one my absolute favorites and no matter how many times I watch it I never get tired of seeing it.

I originally watched it with English subtitles. I just hate to watch a dubbed movie but if you don’t want to miss a second of the incredible fight scenes then the English version is actually quite good. Sit back, grab some popcorn and get ready for a kick ass movie. There’s nothing shallow about this movie and I don’t care whether you love or hate historical movies, you’ll still love this one. Brotherhood of the Wolf just completely defies any genre or label

I love the era, the clothing, the dialogue, the sets, and every little brilliant detail in this movie. Finding out who the Church’s/the Pope’s personal assassin was the ending is just freaking epic. The villains were perfectly deliciously evil and the hero’s had such a layer of depth to them. The whole movie just had layers and layers of depth to it that I find lacking in so many other movies. This right here is how it’s done and I wish

Hollywood would take a few notes. Just thinking of this movie has me nerd/fan drooling on my keyboard. I think I’m going to have to get this one out and watch it again tonight.

Sorry I wanted to write about the movie itself but I just could not figure out how to do so without ruining it so you’ll just have to settle for my fanboy infomercial. If it actually leads you to watching this movie then that’s good enough for me :)
