I’d read the first few books in this series when they came out and then got somewhat distracted. I did like this one, but I didn’t feel the same level of engagement/enjoyment as I once had. I’m not sure if this is a function of being older or if there’s a flaw in the book itself.

I guess I should have checked first, but Silently and Very Fast can be read (legally) for free online. If Kobo doesn't send me the correct file, it still works out in the end.

Well, the short version is that the first book of "The Orphan's Tales" has blown me away.

I've come to expect nothing less of Cat Valente but I am still always surprised at how emotionally attached I get to her books. My full review can be found under the link.
