Fills in Genre: Mystery square
This book tried to be too many things at once: modern gothic, cozy mystery, and chick lit. Add in the info dumps about life in mountainous/rural Australia, weird characters, and stilted dialogue, and you got a not so great reading experience. Finally, get a copy editor stat! I won't read another book in this series or anything by this author. 1 star.
I enjoyed the story. I tend to figure out mysteries quicker than the main character, but I didn't figure this one out. Goldy, Jullian, Arch, and Tom were great characters and you wanted tgings to work out for them. The recipes throughout the book is an added bonus for those who like to cook. I know I will be tring a few of them myself. I will most likely continue reading Goldy's misadventures in catering.
