Synopsis:

After a harsh betrayal, Magnus “Strath” Sutherland, Laird of Dornoch, accepts a commission from the king to squelch an English lord’s siege at the Scottish border. What better way to torment his new English enemy than to defeat his army and steal his beautiful bride? At first, Strath plans to toss the Sassenach lass into a dark cell and forget about her, but there is something about the way she defies him that he finds alluring, not to mention how very much he’d like to kiss her.

Eva de Clare, youngest daughter of the Earl of Northwyck, is pledged in matrimony to a cruel lord blackmailing her family. Her salvation comes in the form of a terrifying Highlander who interrupts the ceremony. But salvation turns to horror when she’s plucked from where she stands and whisked across the Scottish border. Eva isn’t about to be made a prisoner of war, and once she sees the kindness beneath her captor’s hard exterior she decides she won’t be sent back to England to be wed either. In fact, she just might be the woman to warm the Highland warrior’s hardened heart.

Excerpt from THE HIGHLANDER’S STOLEN BRIDE:

What is the bastard up to?
Magnus “Strath” Sutherland, the Laird of Dornoch and Earl of Strathnavor, sat on his horse in the woods just beyond the perimeter of Northwyck Castle. He’d been sent south on a mission by his King, Robert the Bruce. One, to determine if the daughter of Lord Northwyck was dead as had been claimed, and also to stop a certain vile Sassenach lord from his continued raids at the border, who may or may not be holding her captive. That man was in the castle before him.
A plan to ambush Belfinch and his men on the road had been thwarted when the whoreson disappeared. Unfamiliar with the land this far past the English border, Strath and his men had found their quarry on the moors riding at a clipped pace toward this castle. This turnabout would work in their favor it seemed, since he could now take care of both of his king’s requests at once.
The keep was only about four stories high, if he had to guess, and the wall was about half that. There was a thin moat around the perimeter, and a village to the west. Smoke filtered out of a few chimneys in the village, but it was only late afternoon, so most of the peasants would likely be in the fields working. Smoke came from several chimneys in the castle keep.
From the intelligence Strath had been able to gather, this was the home of another man, the Earl of Northwyck. None of Belfinch’s men had waited outside, which meant the Earl of Northwyck was used to the men coming here, or he’d been forced. But Strath was betting on him being an ally. If that were the case, which seemed likely, it would behoove him and his men to remove all the threats.
This was war, after all. And if he let them go, they’d only continue the border raids he’d been sent to stop. Strath wasn’t about to disappoint his king. As to why the king cared about a lass, that was a question he’d have to leave unanswered, for his liege had not offered the information.
“What did ye find?” he asked when Tomaidh, his finest scout and best mate, returned.
“Two entrances that I could make out. The main gate has a wide drawbridge over the moat, still lowered from when Belfinch’s men went inside, and a postern gate that looks to be accessible only by a narrow drawbridge, but it was not lowered. The walls are guarded by a dozen men, more concentrated on the front gate with only a few at the postern. And I think one spotted me.”
“Damn.” Strath, as any warlord about to lay siege, much preferred the element of surprise.
“I was careful, but when I mounted my horse by the woods, I think my sword hilt caught the sun just when there was a break in the clouds. I heard a horn blown in the distance, which I’m guessing was the warning. I didn’t come straight here. I rode in the opposite direction and circled back through the woods in case they sent anyone out to follow me.”
“Ye did good.”
“I’m sorry, laird.”
“Dinna fash over it, Tomaidh. We’ll wait then. If they spotted ye, they’ll likely be preparing for an unwanted guest. With enough time, they will think spotting ye was nothing more than someone riding through. They will let their guard down.” Probably not all the way, but enough so he could still attack with success.
And he would succeed.

My Review
5 Stars
THE HIGHLANDER'S STOLEN BRIDE by Eliza Knight is book Two in The Sutherland Legacy Series. This is the story of Magnus “Strath” Sutherland, Laird of Dornoch , Earl of Strathnavor and Eva de Clare. I have read the previous book, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you choose to do so. Eva's father has been black mailed for the last few years by Lord Belfinch who now demands her had in marriage. Lord Belfinch is a evil man and she begs her father not to do it but papers have been signed making her. But just before a vow is said Strath comes in and takes her away. Strath who is getting over a past mistake where he trusted a women only to be deceived by her that ended up hurting his father has taken a commission from King, Robert the Bruce to bring the evil Lord Belfinch in for his evil deeds and to find out of Lord Northwyck daughter Eva is safe. Strath thinks at first that Eva was wanting to marry Lord Belfinch and when she doesn't quickly say different proves his thoughts. But Eva was being forced to marry him but for some reason she is hoping to save her father at first and she was also somewhat scared of Strath from what she has heard of his people. But it doesn't take long before their feelings start to take over for each other and they are finding that they want each other.
Exciting read that is very hard to put down...loved it!

Review For: The Sea Devil by Eliza Knight

The Sea Devil by  Eliza Knight is book Three in the "Pirates of Britannia: Lords of the Sea" Series.  This is the story of Thornley "Thor" MacLeod and Alesia Baird.
This can be a standalone book I felt.
Thor is a Captain of a ship along with being part of the Devils of the Deep group.  Also Thor is out to get revenge on Santiago Fernandez, leader of Los Demonios de Mar group who tortured him. Thor thinks he found a way when he learns that Santiago is looking for a long lost daughter that he has.
Alesia grew up on the coast of Scotland with a whore of a mother.  Alesia planned on never being that but she did turn to stealing which she has turned out to be very good at...so good there is a price on her head. Now with the noose in her view, she knows she needs to escape from here.  When she sets in motion a way to escape the death trap via pretending to be who Thor is looking for. Once away from her home she plans on leaving Thor and this false identity but fate is stepping in and she may have to change her plans.
This was another exciting story from this author!  Loved it!

No more of a coherent thought other than she’d never been kissed like this before went through Jane’s mind. She should slap him, push him away, at the very least demand to be put back on her own feet and a good measure of space put between them.

But she did none of those things. Instead, she found herself winding her arms around his neck, parting her lips and sighing against his demanding lips. The spicy-salty scent of him surrounded her, doing something wild to her senses. Suddenly every part of her felt alive with a tingling fire that only seemed ready to burn hotter.

Parting her lips seemed to be a wicked invitation, for as soon as she had done it, his devious tongue swept along the open seam causing her to gasp.

Oh, sweet heavens, but that felt even more divine. Just that little lick sent a jolt rushing through her. And before she could catch her wits from it, he’d done it again, and again, and then her own tongue was reaching forward to test it out. She touched the tip of her tongue to his and could have been struck by lightning, so massive was the force of current that went rushing through her.

This was wicked, oh, so very wicked. And yet, she couldn’t make herself stop.

And did she have to? She’d given herself to this man. Had agreed to share his bed in exchange for him vowing she was his, a marriage that may end up being a total sham for all she knew. But that didn’t change the fact that she’d agreed to it, that in order to be saved from Livingstone, to keep the rightful king safe, she had invited this pirate to lay claim to her.

Lay claim to her, he was. There could be no doubt about it, the way he owned her body at that moment. She couldn’t move. He had her completely enthralled. Completely captivated. Intoxicated.

It was he who pulled away first. He who stared into her bemused eyes with a satisfied expression that she would have found overly irritating if she wasn’t so busy trying to find her bearings.

Shaw set her down on her feet and grinned at her as though he’d plucked a tart straight from her fingers and devoured it.

“I hope that satisfies your need,” she murmured, “for sealing deals.”

He chuckled then, a sound that caressed her nerves, but did very little in the way of calming her. In fact, it did quite the opposite. She licked her lips, trying to avoid looking at his mouth as she wanted him to very much kiss her once more. He might have set her down on her feet, but she was barely standing on her own. Every line in her body reached for him, wanting more of what he’d just given her.

“That was just a taste, love, of what satisfies, but not nearly enough.”

“Shall we do it again then?” she asked in challenge, then felt the heat rush to her face for having spoken so boldly.

Shaw’s darkened gaze swept over her, bold and devilish, and right along with it her body quivered. He wanted her. And she… wanted him.

“Oh, sweet Jane, we shall do it again many more times.”

Review: SAVAGE OF THE SEA by Eliza Knight
Savage of the Sea (Pirates of Britannia: Lords of the Sea Book 1) (Volume 1) - Eliza Knight

SAVAGE OF THE SEA by Eliza Knight is the First book in the Pirates of Britannia: Lords of the Sea. This is the story of Shaw “Savage” MacDougall and Lady Jane Lindsey.
Shaw had a rocky start but he has made a name for himself as a pirate but he does have honor. That is proven when he saves a young Jane for certain rape and death. Shaw takes her to the Abbey to be safe. Neither forgot the other and now Jane finds that she needs him again. Shaw again steps in to help her but this time it leads to more excitement, trouble and some great love scene.
Love their story and this author's writing.
