DIRTY FILTHY RICH BOYS by Laurelin Paige
Dirty Filthy Rich Boys - Laurelin Paige Dirty Filthy Rich Boys - Laurelin Paige

Sabrina goes to Harvard on a scholarship. In her Ethics class she sees Weston King and falls for him so she goes to parties at the Keep trying to meet him. He always has someone so one night he forgets to latch the door leading to the bedrooms upstairs and she follows and watches him. She then becomes aware someone was watching her. She gets into a discussion the Donovan Kincaid who is the TA in her Ethics class. Later that night while waiting for an escort car she is rescued from attack by Donovan. Her thoughts then turn to Donovan. What is she to do?

I liked this story. I liked Sabrina. She is trying to to her best in school to keep her scholarship. Meeting Weston and Donovan does mess up her thoughts. Both are privileged and know it. Some bad circumstances cause Sabrina to go home. Then this ends on a cliff hanger. I have to get the rest of the series.

Sexy as Sin (Filthy Rich #2) by Julie Kriss
Sexy as Sin (Filthy Rich, #2) - Julie Kriss

Heat and heart go hand in hand, each time Julie Kriss is pulling the strings. Sexy as Sin is for every heart that has lived with regret and hoped for a second chance. Dane is the endearingly, geeky smart ***. Ava is the brutally honest, bane of his existence that never quite gave back the key to his heart. Kriss proves she has what it takes to not only break a heart, but piece them back together long after the damage has been done.

Sexy Filthy Boss (White Collar Brothers #1) by Piper Rayne
Sexy Filthy Boss (White Collar Brothers #1) - Piper Rayne

Enzo caught me off guard. While he may act like a beast, he's anything but. He stole my heart in the blink of an eye. His personality is electric, his charisma overpowering and his heart is his greatest feature. Annie never knew what hit her, once this playboy had her in his sights. Sexy, Filthy Boss steamed up my ereader and melted my heart.

The Empire (Filthy Trilogy #3) - Lisa Renee Jones

This book is finally the conclusion of Harper and Eric's story.

While Eric is trying to figure out what is going on, he finds out his father has had a heart attack.  After Eric gets all of the facts, he thinks maybe his dad was poisoned.  At the same time Eric and Harper keep getting cryptic messages that Eric still doesn't understand.

Just when it looks like things are figured out....BOOM....things change.  The path Eric and Harper had to take to get to their happy ending was just crazy.  It was fun watching these two grow closer while also learning to trust each other.

Overall I really enjoyed this series.  Great characters and the story line really kept me intrigued.

The Royal Art of Poison by Eleanor Herman
The Royal Art of Poison: Filthy Palaces, Fatal Cosmetics, Deadly Medicine, and Murder Most Foul - Eleanor Herman

This is a popular history account of the final illnesses of various historical personages reputed to have died of poison. It also has some general poison information and some more modern poisons and poisoners. Plus some historical medical information, ghastly as it may seem to us.

The author's tone sometimes veered toward condescension when talking about various mercury and arsenic cures but it's interesting that some of them actually worked. Of course, poisoning the patient was a potential side effect but avoidable in the right dose. Anyway, it was interesting that the author combined the historical autopsies with the modern diagnoses and autopsies (if available) because I honestly had no idea that autopsies were such a common thing that long ago (at least among the nobility).

I was also introduced to some historical personages that I hadn't heard of before (I'm not exactly a history buff) so that was cool, although a lot of the people were English, French, and Italian. Anyway, it's not overly rigorous by any means, but I found it interesting.
